Zingerman's Delicatessen was opened in March of 1982 by Paul Saginaw and Ari Weinzweig in an historic building near the Ann Arbor Farmers' Market. In 1992 Zingerman's Bakehouse set up shop on Plaza Drive in Ann Arbor. Founded because the folks at the Deli wanted better bread for their sandwiches, the Bakehouse soon gained a loyal following to their Bakeshop near the Ann Arbor airport. A national reputation for traditionally made breads and pastries soon followed and the Bakehouse gained fans all over the country thanks to Zingerman's Mail Order (zingermans.com) shipping breads, pies and cakes from coast to coast. In 2006, ZIngerman's Bakehouse opened BAKE!, a hands-on teaching bakery dedicated to showing adults, teens and kids how to make breads and pastries the Zingerman's way.

The best bakehouse, deli, creamery, coffee, consulting firm, mail order, and roadhouse in the country! The company's ethics are as unbeatable as their products and service! You'd be a fool not to stop by one of their locations when in the Ann Arbor area!

I love this place, it has the best bread and sandwiches ever. I travel an hour to go get them when I am home and when I am coming from Chicago, I always stop.

I am born and raised in Ann Arbor, and leaving for college in a couple weeks. The thing that I am most upset about is not being down the street from the bakehouse anymore. I LOVE Zingerman's.

Not just the Best Bakehouse, The best Deli, The best Coffee House. The Best Desserts. The Best cheese. The Best oil & Vinegar. Zingermans, Quite simply is the best of everything. My wife and I are addicted and very happily visit at least every 2 Weeks. Not a bad thing in the building! I best their paper even tastes Great!!!

Bread with integrity and dedication. fantastic cake showroom. welcoming bakeshop. fabulous tours every Saturday. give the day old bread to charities every day. donate a year of bread to many nonprofit fund raising silent auctions. time is the secret ingredient and is what sets in apart. constantly innovating and coming up with new products. bubbly service people who love their jobs.
