I went to Z Square recently, having passed by it before. I walked in, the line was short, our order easy, and we waited. All of the tables were full, which was understandable in so trendy a place. However, when one table was vacated, we were surprised to see that none of the four servers went to clear it. We stood beside it, clearly waiting for someone to grab the four cups and messy dishes. No one did until my brother went to bring it to the attention of the server. Then, she merely grabbed the dishes and walked away, without wiping it down. We had ordered three drinks (two teas and an orange juice), which we had not been given. Finally, my brother gave up and wiped the table down and we sat, waiting again.

We had to ask to receive our drinks and were extremely disgusted when in the tea cups were butter and cheese. Ick.

When my brother went to exchange the cups, the next two were dirty too. After a twenty minute wait, we received our food by which time we were much too grossed out to eat. When my brother went to ask for a refund, the waiter was extremely rude and pretty much yelled at him.

While the interior of the place is interesting, the wait staff along with the presentation of food was extraordinarily poor.

I don't get what the hoopla about Z Square is. Sure it looks trendy and has an interesting menu, but when the food comes its more about style than substance (read: small portions and mediocre food). The prices are also a little ridiculous (almost $10 for a small panini). To me, the "success" of this place is all about their location (all the more power to them).

I was very impressed with Z Squared overall. The drinks were quite tasty. The Pomegranate Squared martini was delicious although quite sweet, I think more than one would be too much. I was not a fan of the key lime martini which was not tasting quite like key lime and the graham cracker rim got all in the drink and so it was like drinking mushy lime graham crackers. The Chimichuri skirt steak entree was fabulous. My friends ordered the Delmonico and a sirloin special, all of which were incredible. The molten chocolate cake was a little over cooked but still delicious. Overall, a great experience with excellent service. I will return

This place is awesome. I am a super picky eater, but there is so much variety, and the food is healthy looking and tasting. everything looks pretty as well. I have never been there too early or late, but if i lived near the square I'd go every day. I think they open at like 5 and close at 2. I don't know when they sleep. My favorite is ZLT, because many years ago i created this sandwich in my kitchen, before Z even existed. And i always have the nuttlela crepe with banana.

I've been to Z Square several times and each meal has been exceptional, the service is outstanding and the staff friendly. Try the Oven Roasted Wild Mushroom for starters and the Rib Eye steak entree. Outstanding! You can't beat the atmosphere, it's great place to lunch. You will find the dinner crowd fun and lively. It's my favorite spot in Cambridge. Kudos to the Chef and Management, keep up the good work!

Stay upstairs and try any one of the options for a fast but high-quality meal. In the summer, you can even sit outside. Go downstairs for New American cuisine that is delicious and reasonably priced, with excellent and respectful service to all ages.

Recommendations: The ZLT, how can you go wrong with avocado and bacon!
