Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy Inc. is a family owned and operated Toy & Hobby retail store. We are located in St. Clair Shores, MI and have proudly served the Greater Detroit area since 1969. Richard & Carol Claggett with there 3 children, Rick Claggett, Wendy Bacon and Julie Everett are the owners and backbone of the operation. Our goal is to provide a large quantity of quality Toy and Hobby items at highly competitive prices for the entire Family. We also provide the best service possible to make sure the customer purchases the correct age and difficulty level product for the intended user. Free Gift Wrapping is also provided for those who need it. We attempt to make shopping here a pleasant experience for all age groups so the whole Family will enjoy there visit here. Our store features several "Hands On" play tables to keep the Toddlers busy while the parents shop. There are hundreds of assorted Plush items from several manufactures for any Child to find that perfect companion. We search the world to find quality entertaining Toys for all age groups from infants to the elderly. For example we have a large assortment of: Pre-School Toys, Plastic Model Kits, Die-cast Car & Truck Models, Jigsaw Puzzles, Lionel & other Trains, and the list goes on... Whistle Stop also features a web-site, www.whistle-stop.com, that shows thousands of items available to ship anywhere in the world. It is always growing and hopefully will eventually contain our entire product line (a formidable task). Throughout the year we offer several events, play days and contests including: Pony Rides w/Petting Zoo, Bryer Horse Day, Lego Contest, Brio Play day, Harper Avenue Cruise, Etc. The Whistle Stop has toys that you cannot find anywhere else. They also have activity based items that are ideal for kids and adults of all ages. I love their science kits.
They have toys you can't find other places, toys from your childhood, developmental toys, high quality toys that are stimulating and entertaining. Excellent selection of puzzles and games, and the best display of old trains and new! A very fun place to browse and drop a few dollars.

Whistle Stop Hobby and Toy, Inc. has been top notch in their efforts to give the very best service possible. They have never failed to fill an order and they ship within 36 hours of receiving an order. Their inventory must be huge because they are always able to fill any order I send them and delivery is generally within 5 days of placing my order. There prices are very competitive with other companies in the nation but it is their service that surpasses all others. They are the only company I order model trains and accessories from. No need to waste time and money with the others.

I was EXTREMELY pleased with the recent LGB train order I placed with STEPHANIE! Wow, she REALLY CARES! This toy store really excels - I can only give it the HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING! And it is also WONDERFUL that they charge only $10 for UNLIMITED SHIPPING - this really got my attention!

WOW--what a great hobby shop for the whole family. Dad buys his model building supplies the while the kids play with all the great toys on display. We go almost every week and always buy something from their well stocked, clean exciting store. Definitely one of the best in the area-- probably even the state.
