Friendly players, who not only perform well & are very entertaining, but also teach classes in improv comedy through WIT and invest themselves into their students' success.
I've found Washington Improv Theater players to be intelligently funny both as individuals and as a group. The quality of their shows hits excellence whether it's a film, political, holiday, or general themed show. I feel they are far and away the best improv troupe around.
You can go back night after night (I know, I do) and never see the same show twice. They keep fresh, creative & talented player on stage and are not afraid to experiment with their format. They have no fear of challenging the audience, which makes it feel like you are an integral part of the performance.
A truly unique group who works well together to entertain the audience. They are awesome--great bunch of funny people!!
Where else in DC can you see a different, and usually highly entertaining, show ... every single time you enter the theater?
WIT's the best place to catch smart and cutting edge comedy in the city. Plus, it's way cheaper than other theaters and perfect for a night out with friends or dates. What they can do with a blank stage and a single suggestion is far more creative than anything you'd see at a scripted theater with costumes and sets.
