Vito Bommarito was born in beautiful Terrasini, Sicily. He came to Michigan in 1968 at the age of 15 and worked for his uncle in East Detroit. At the young age of 17 years he opened his own bakery in Clinton Twp. Vito's brother Joe accompanied him in 1974. Vito's Bakery has been in the same location for over 30 years. In 2000 he bought and remodeled the building across the street. Vito's Bakery has been at this location for another 7 years making that a total of 37 years serving the community with delicious old style Italian treats.

What can you say about an Italian bakery that hasn't already been said for 25 years. I get fat thinking of that cannoli filling. And the casatta cakes... OMG.

The best canollis ever.Also the cakes are so good and they always do a great job decorating them. I also buy the bread crumbs and the fresh baked bread.Everyone is always very friendly and helpful.

Vito's bakery is a veryyyyy good place to go because they treat you like family when ever you go there. also they have the best cannolies and everythign they make is always freash and delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!another reason is they are not very expensive and are great fpr weddings or any kind of party or get toghether that you could think f.

Absolutely the best Rum Cassata cake and canoli in Michigan. My daughter lives on the west side and her in-laws drive all the way to Vito's for their Cassata cake. The breads and other pastries are yummy.

The freshness and quality of the breads and pastries is outstanding. If you haven't tried the "Muffaletta" you are missing out on one of the finest specialty items offered anywhere. It is absolutely delicious. Once you try it, you'll never be satisfied with any other.

Vito's Bakery has made the cakes for every special occasion in my family for years. Their Rum Casata cake is by far the best in Michigan. Their canoli filling and shells are superb. Nobody can match the quality, price and presentation of their baked goods. We had the Rum Casata cake at my daughters wedding for 425 guests, many who still rave about it!!
