Beautique in the Village is my favorite salon and spa in Houston. I've been going for years and stayed devoted to it, even through several stylists. I'm never disappointed. The spa pedicures are to die for and really reasonably priced (around $40 for the full treatment). One time I saw an informal bachelorette party have spa pedicures all at once and bring their own champagne--it was adorable. Mother/daughter pedicures are also popular there. The owner is so sweet, and always around to talk to clients about their needs.

The Menil is always a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The highlight for me is always the permanent surrealist collection (it never gets old). Hang out in the park outside and mosey over to the Rothko Chapel to contemplate what art's all about.

Artsy, Euro-inspired coffee shop by day and great place to hang out with a beer by night. I always love this place.

One of Montrose's best coffee shops--great food, drinks, and funky-cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, a lot of people complain that you can't stay there a long time without getting fussed at. It hasn't happened to me yet....

A fun place in the Village with good tapas. I find it really noisy inside and sometimes hard to hear each other in a group. If the weather's nice, it's great to sit outside.

The most reliable little Chinese restaurant. Love the shrimp & chicken with cashew nuts and the steamed veggie dumplings. Fresh, fast delivery. I've been a happy customer for years.

A Bellaire classic. Consistently delicious food, very family friendly, fast, with a varied menu. Gets really loud on weekend afternoons, so get your food to go!

Ray's Electric is the most reliable auto service shop in Houston. My family has been going there for years...everyone is friendly, honest, and always reliable.
