Some of the best chips & salsa around. I found the service to be a bit slow and distracted - they got my order wrong - probably due to the very large crowd. I'll go back occasionally but will still be looking for my fave DC Mexican joint.

Just check out their website to see how much TLC surrounds this family-owned chain. I love the full-service Taverna restaurants for their wonderful menus and great service. The Cafes are great for less-expensive dining that's just as delicious. Try the fattoush (a non-lettuce salad with a tart, lemony dressing), the falafel, and of course the hummous!

You'll be impressed by the contemporary decor and attentive service, but the real reason to go is the food! Try a little of everything - from the chutneys served with your complimentary papads to whatever looks good on the menu. I enjoyed the dal makhani and an amazing mango lassi, and will be trying more dishes as soon as I can!
