Welcome to Texas! This is a great place for someone new to Texas to learn what southern living is all about! Take the country ride out to Salt Lick, bring your dancin' shoes (they have live music every weekend). True to the Texan way DON'T FORGET YOUR COOLER OF BEER!!! They do not sell alcohol, but they welcome you to BYOB/W.

Do not bring a belt! You are guaranteed to eat more than you can ever remember eating, the food is so good you can't help but stuff your face, and it's okay cause everyone's doin it! I recommend the "Family Style" which is a sampler for the whole family and is all you can eat. Mouth watering plates with stacks of meat head your way, and to any Texan it's a dream come true. You will get the juiciest sausage you will ever eat, brisket that melts in your mouth and racks of meaty ribs- empty the plate and they refill it! Also their is soft bread, beans, potato salad and slaw. Finally, some of the best BBQ sauce I have ever had should be poured all over EVERYTHING! A great dining experience while you feel as though you are camping out with people you enjoy... life gets no better.

This is hands down the BEST place I have EVER eaten at! Authentic Tex Mex with a great atmos[here encourages families to come and stay a while. I would recommend anything on the menu, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Banditos with the white chile sauce. They look like mini burritos, but are filled with mild green chiles and a BUNCH of cheese and fried to a crispy brown, so gooey! You can try it on their sampler platter with quesadillas and something else. What is also great besides the food is that Chuy's features artwork from local artists on the freespace on their walls. They have been showcasing a local artist that makes and paints comical fish that are adorable and affordable. I have been collecting them for over ten years now.

If you are in Austin I would say you MUST jump down Barton Springs Road past Zilker Park and try anything on the menu and check out the art, I promise you'll go back again, I'm in DC and would fly to Austin just for lunch at Chuy's!
