urbAnimal is an independently owned pet supply store located in the uptown area of Minneapolis. Originally opening its doors in 1991 as Pet Central Station, the store was a pioneer in offering natural foods and supplements along with a unique selection of beds, toys and treats. Known simply as Pet Central to our regular customers, our business continued to grow as the industry began to take a more holistic approach to wellness and animal care. The shop has gone through a series of changes including a remodel and expansion, a change in management, and the addition of several services. In 2002 the company name changed to urbAnimal Service and Supply to better reflect our new image and acknowledge the services we provide. The “PetCentral for the urban animal” sign still hangs above our door at 2106 Lyndale, the tag line spelling out the origin of our new and unique name. urbAnimal continues to grow the business by offering services such as training classes, pet play dates, metro wide delivery, mid-day walks, and pet sitting. These services allow us to reach the entire Minneapolis / St Paul metro area while we continue to serve the local customer base of the Lyndale Ave store front.
