Initially opened in Watertown, I've watched this Bakery take off from the start. The freshest ingredients, are the only ingredients! Whatever you try, your taste buds and stomach will overwhelm you with delight! Dieters: This is the ONLY place to cheat with a treat. Hello Kathleen - keep up the great work!
The Kringle is excellent, the cakes are beautiful. I especially love the butter croissants.
The wide-assortment of goodies available fresh daily are like a trip to Europe. In addition to sweets, quiche and soup, and also Scandinavian juices and candy are offered.
Wonderful selection, fabulous quality, fair prices. They are hard to find but worth looking for.
Warm and comfortable atmosphere, delicious food, the pastries and desserts are to die for, and the coffee and teas are wonderful. It doesn't get much better than that!
Fresh, delicious pastry and breads. Friendly and generous staff. If you LOVE all things marzipan, this is the place for you!
This place keeps getting better and better. Scrumptious pastries, delicious bread, coffees and teas, yummy soups/sandwiches, panini, ice cream AND fancy cheeses. All in a nice space to hang out alone or with friends. Glad to have it in my neighborhood!

The pastry is so authentic and so good. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to find better in Demark..
Some can match the quality, but nobody can match the breadth of their pastry offerings. The product looks and tastes precisely like the pastry found in Copenhagen.
Wonderful pastry selections; great coffee and sandwiches...friendly help and great service
Absolutely, sinfully delicious. Also quite unique in their quality and variety. Using only Danish butter makes a difference, too. I never realized how good marzipan can be, either. Turns out the Danish version is quite different from - and MUCH tastier than - the kind I'm familiar with. No comparison.
The owners are wonderful and so helpful. The desserts are amazing and the soups and sandwiches are great too. Plus the Medford location is a great place to enjoy one of their tasty lattes or ice teas. I always use The Danish Pastry House to cater my events b/c I am sure to get compliments on my food choice.
Discovering the Danish Pastry House is the best thing that's happened to me since i moved to Boston. Warm friendly service, great food, delicious delicacies, relaxed atmosphere and somewhere I can feel at home even though I'm a long, long, long way from home.
UNBELIEVABLE pastries, awesome people and service. I would never go anywhere else!
Their food is fabulous, I especially love the sandwiches and I have become a kringle junky! There is nothing like it!!! I love their cafe, it is always warm and welcoming and relaxing. If you haven't been there yet - Go! It is worth the trip from anywhere!
No where outside of Denmark have I tasted such a range of tastes, textures, fragrance and shapes ! and always the gracious hospitality of the people who
make it their business never to hurry this customer as she chooses the robust, delicacies in the Pastry House. What pleasures in Watertown !
This is the best bakery in the Boston area with delicious & authentic Danish pastries, including lots of variety!! You can find here what you could in Denmark!
Danish pastry is simply the best pastry - and they make a very fine example of it!
How do I love The Danish Pastry House? Let me count the ways. First, I've never had anything that I haven't liked, from soups and salads to desserts. Second--the desserts!!! Oh my, the desserts! They're beyond wonderful. One can never be bored, because there are always new and exciting selections. The marzipan that is the base of many of the selections is superb--not the typical cloyingly sweet stuff we usually taste, but much more subtle and wonderful. Third, the staff. They're unfailingly polite, usually really knowledgeable about what's in the desserts (and how to pronounce them!).
They are a cheerful, well-run shop that makes the whole area more pleasant. Their hot drinks, their pastry, sandwiches, cheese -- everything's really pretty terrific!
These guys are going to kill me. The sweets are too good. I've eaten at least 50 florentines with cream and keep going back.
Delicious breads & pastries. The 3-seed bread is unusual & excellent -- as good as any fine French bread. The flaky pastries, like the kringle, can't be matched -- if you can manage to save any, they keep beautifully in the fridge; just re-heat & enjoy!
Not only is the food addictive, but the folks that work there are so very nice. It is a joy to be a cleint
My two daughters and I drove up to the bakery from the south shore after seeing it mentioned on food network and getting a taste of its delicious food at a farmer's market in Boston last summer. We sampled both panini's and crepes for lunch (which were excellent) and some of the wonderful sweet treats for dessert. The "potato" filled with bavarian cream is incredible! We went home with a bag full of kringle, lemon squares (best we've ever tasted) and sweets for the folks at home. The food is incredible here, but the real star is the staff. They are incredibly pleasant and helpful and make this place a gem! We'll definitely take another road trip and visit again.
