Shanghai Gate
The best outside of Chinatown -- Shanghai Gate is over in Allston (Harvard Ave T Stop). They actually have a picture of soup dumplings on the window facing the street.

Gourmet Dumpling House
The name should say it all: gourmet dumplings! They have a big selection of dumplings including two types of XLB -- standard (pork) and crab.

Taiwan Cafe
Probably the soupiest of all XLB that I've had -- they also seem to be a bit bigger. Very plump and tasty.

New Shanghai Restaurant
Very good XLB -- I don't go here as often as the other places, but it deserves mention.
