After 20 years of working for the man, brothers Roger and Tom Evans' dream came to fruition when The 219 opened its doors on July 18, 1997. Roger's mother-in-law, Marilyn Heilig, created a menu and several signature dishes that would rank her among the most highly touted chefs in Hampton Roads. Her softball-sized jumbo lump crab cake is quite possibly the best you'll ever have. Yeah, yeah, we know everyone says that, but you'll just have to taste for yourself.
