Tate Street Coffee House was established on December 16, 1993, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. That night colonists literally dumped tea into the Boston Harbor and embraced coffee as their beverage of choice. We are located on the edge of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) campus and are a part of the independent businesses that make up a thriving community. While in the heart of a university setting, regular visitors to the coffee house include not just students, but a great mix of professionals, neighborhood families, professors and just plain regular folk.
