Sushi Sasabune definitely lived up to the hype. Went for a casual dinner on a Thursday night and left completely satisfied albeit a little lighter in the wallet. I did the omakase (chef's choice) and sat back and enjoyed what came to me.
The ponzu albacore starter was amazing, as were the butterfish and blue crab. I also tried the lobster miso soup, which was interesting, but I would not get it again.

Absolutely the freshest fish in the country. iIve been to every great sushi place in LA, HI, Japan and NY. This is the closest it gets to Japan. AMAZING. It will change your idea of sushi forever and spoil you for the rest. Close your eyes while you eat. It's that good.

One of the top ten best sushi restaurants in LA. Best thing to do is chefs choice. If you like sasabune, also try sushi zo in culver city.
