100% Rider owned and operated. 1st Bike Shop in the world to receive Park Tool Company's Distinguished Service Award for outstanding customer service and bicycle repair. Since the early days of my fascination with bikes, there was always a little voice in my head encouraging me to open a shop. So during one of my last visits to Solon Bicycle while still a bicycle sales rep, I remember saying "let me know when you're ready to sell the place" as I was leaving. I could tell that he was actually thinking about the statement and this started the wheels in motion. I left Solon and went out to lunch with my wife and we discussed the possibility of the store. She gave me great insight and told me to go for it if that was what I wanted. A few days later, Claudio and I sat down to discuss the purchase options. Our journey lasted about 5 months until we signed on the dotted line and took possession of Solon Bicycle. February 13, 2004 was the first official day. Now as everyone knows, it takes more than hard work and good ideas to make a store a success. It also takes great customer service and enthusiastic employees. We realize that there are so many less desirable jobs out there and we feel we are lucky to be working with bicycles in a fun and friendly environment. Solon Bicycle was the first bike shop in Solon and has been around since 1987. We have made many changes and improvements on an already great store and are proud to do business in this community. This is a good, full-service shop. I have lived in Bainbridge for 7 years and have walked into this shop with bike problems, and walked out later with the problem solved, sometimes without any cost! And I didn't buy the bike there. I have bought a Specialized Roubaix there and believe this was the best recommendation for a bike that could have been made for me!
