Everything about this place stirs up your romantic notions. And that's before the wine even gets poured! The entrance, the patio, the music, the lighting are perfect for getting cozy with a loved one.

Out on the deck. Beautiful gardens surround you, excellent service, 6 elegent courses served in just the right time frames. A taste of amazing dishes along with complimenting wine options. Secluded and quiet. It is simply the best!

Outside, surrounded by wonderful trees, chickens, the occasional peacock, attentive staff, wonderful food and the ability to actually have a conversation without raising my voice. I am a pleasant person when I leave and always satisfied.

The food was prepared with fresh ingredients -- no cans in the kitchen! It was delicious and the presentation was wonderful. The staff was courteous and friendly. The food is not just "ordinary" -- the preparation is unique in taste and description. The chickens in the neighborhood and on the grounds lend a unique atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the patio dining area is peaceful and beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a special eating experience.

Although the other places mentioned are nice, the Slocum stands out above the rest. It's a beautiful place, food is excellent and service is exceptional. My fiance proposed to me at this restaurant and it couldn't have been more romantic. Thank you Slocum House for the perfect place!!!
