The Propeller's 19th century symmetry and fluid line make it perhaps the first timeless modern design. It's also a perfect example of form beautifully following function - it moves things forward. Much of Modern's celebrity is caught in the middle of the last century. And while we love Eames + Saarinen as much as the next guy, there are loads of talented modern designers getting started now. So we, in our humble way, have set out to move design forward a bit by focusing on emerging and independent North American designers and manufacturers and presenting them to folks who enjoy owning an object of good design, that often has a good story and isn't in everyone's home.
