Porter Square Books has been recognized locally as one of the best new book stores in the city. The staff has years of experience running independent bookstores -- most recently in nearby Concord, MA. Staff members have a good deal of knowledge and experience with children's books. We love to read, so come in and talk books with us! Better yet, come in, get an excellent cup of coffee or tea (and a tasty goody or two) at Café Zing right in the store, and browse while you sip.

Best Book store... ever
The workers are so helpful all the time even at 9pm closing..... RM
They have books you can't find anywhere else; the staff are helpful. Their cards are great (especially Ann-made). We have to support independent bookstores, and this is absolutely one of the best. I go out of my way to go to it, and so should you.
Good selection of books, helpful service, and a nice cafe -- what more could one want?
Small in scale but big inventory. Helpful, friendly staff. Rewards program for frequent shoppers. Free gift wrapping.
The staff is very friendly. Zing offers snacks, desserts and fair traded coffee and tea. There are "Bar-seating" and tables available. It provides more personality and cozy atmosphere than O'Natural a few blocks down the streets. I give Zing four green stars (out of 5).
