El Paseo's building is listed on the Register for Historical Places, so you know that you're in for something special when you make your way inside. During the warmer weather months, the windows stay open and an inviting atmosphere beckons guests to join the fun. Food here is of the New Mexican variety with daily specials and homemade soups. While kids are welcome, you may want to limit them to a daytime visit as things can get a bit rowdy around 9PM when the music kicks in. This unassuming club, just off the Plaza, with its panel of television sets makes it resemble a sports bar, yet, in reality, it ranks as one of Santa Fe's hottest nightspots for live music. Jazz is the main draw featuring some of the top traveling musicians in the country. There is also an occasional offering of blues and bluegrass, and even rock which tends to attract the younger crowds. Tuesdays are especially entertaining with open-mic night featuring local musicians.
