The mission of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, a non-profit regional art center, is to enhance the life in our region by promoting the appreciation, understanding and practice of the Arts. Founded in 1957 by a group of concerned citizens interested in providing cultural opportunities to their community, it has grown into a major arts facility in southeastern Michigan.

The exhibitions are diverse and comprehensive. They offer shows of local artists, emerging new artists, well known national artists and many artists groups. Their exhibitions are installed beautifully and are easy to view and enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere.

The BBAC shows they care about the community by reaching out to many different groups of artists, even high school kids who need a venue to display their work. The BBAC is dedicated to all artists, including all ages and styles.

They are open to everyone and encourage all levels of artists to learn, explore and experiment, Not only have I grown as an artist, my appreciation for different kinds of art and artists has been expanded. My overall experience when visiting or painting at the BBAC is positive and fun.

This is a world-class teaching facility and gallery, offering new and experienced artists a wonderful studio setting in which to share talent and creativity. I have been a member since 1980, and it gets better every year!

The BBAA does its best to support local and Michigan talent in a unique setting. A wide variety of shows allows the public to see student and professional work in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a terrific regional gallery.

If you haven't visited the BBAC, you should put it on your "Must Do" list. Not only will you find a wide variety of exhibits to choose from throughout the year, you will love that you can enjoy the art in a relaxed, non-intimidating, friendly gallery. Be sure to visit the gift shop too. Lots of wonderful and unique items to choose from.

In just a little under two years, since I started going to BBAC, I've built up enough confidence to enter several juried art shows, won some awards, and even sold a few pieces of my work. The BBAC has been the best experience I have had in a very long time. The instructor's are awesome! Andrea Tama is amazing. Every instructor that is there have a great love for the arts and are able to flow that love of art over into their students. The galleries are a delight! They work great with people that have disabilities and encourage all to bring out the best in them and the love of art! It is the one place that I am able to go and let go of troubles and stress and to let the inner peace come out through my art work. The students there are wonderful and very friendly. Leslie Master's is another one of the great instructors there...always bringing the best out of the students. Not only are the instructor's great to work with, but the art that they have done and share to help encourage the students is just awesome. There are students that have been going there for a long time and some just starting out to find their art abilities. The work's that they have done are some of the finest pieces of arts in the area. I highly recommend BBAC to all, even if you don't think that you have the talent.....you will find it there.

You don't have to make art to appreciate the BBAC, just going there will do it. The BBAC has classes, workshops, art camps, events and exhibits that can inspire anyone (adult or child) to nurture their inner creative spirit. Exhibits are free and a great way to get fabulous original art at an excellent price point. The gift shop is a WOW for finding original gifts or the perfect piece, including jewelry, for yourself. I go often as things change constantly (plus currently on sale). The BBAC is my second home.

Friendly people working there encouraging visitors to become involved in art with all their exhibitions and classes. Contemporary surroundings with beautiful views of the out of doors. It's free and the parking is free.
