After 56 years in the City of Hamtramck, "Genie's Wienies" has chosen the City of Fraser as their new home. Genie's Wienies opened April 14, 2007 to a record crowd, selling several hundred hot dogs on the first day alone. They have a large following of loyal customers who have enjoyed their hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and world famous chili for many, many years. A Genie granted hot dogs and hamburgers three wishes at this Coney Island: to be slathered with yellow mustard, freshly chopped white onions and homemade chili. It was a good wish. Owned and operated by Polish-Americans since 1950, Genie's Wienies knows how to please hungry Detroit/Fraser customers. The interior stays the same, and business remains as constant and steady as ever. If you're in a hurry, a frozen block of their famous chili is available for you to take home and serve later, or just grab a cup of chili cheese fries to go on the way.

You havent had a coney unless you have tried Genies Wienies. They are hands down the best coneys around. Great Staff also, always friendly.
Too bad Genies Wienies closed again - I hope they re-open soon.
I survived the Hamtramck closing, I hope I can survive the Fraser closing!
Come back, come back....
Open! Open! Open!

They are the best of everything, best food, best service, best atmosphere, best people, what can I say? You're the best. Glad you're back, keep up the continued great service, food, and just enjoy the continued success.
They are a family owned business and everything is made fresh while you wait. Everyone is so friendly and you always run into someone you know. The prices can't be beat, they're the greatest. Have to have our weekly fix. The original Genies was in Hamtramck, was going crazy when they were moving and preparing for the opening of the new store, thought they would never open up, but they did thankfully.
Genies Wienies has always been a favorite in my family. There food is to die for (especially the chili). The service is fast and friendly.
The best homemade chili in town! And I know it's homemade; I worked for Genie back in the old Hamtramck days. His daughter Michelle is doing a wonderful job of keeping a great tradition alive.
You haven't lived until you've eaten at Genies Wienies!! There is nothing on earth like it!!
They have the best coneys and chili cheese burgers. My family and my husband's family both grew up in Hamtramck. Our parents passed the tradition on to us and we passed it on to our kids. My sister and her husband would go there for their anniversary every year. When they closed and moved to Fraser we called and were put on the waiting list to find out when they would open, we spent 2 hours getting our food that first day but it was worth every minute. My kids won't eat any coneys but Genies Wienies.
Genies Wienies is very affordable and has the best chili!! I traveled many places near and far and no one can compare with the chili! Try it once and it will be your favorite too!
It was an awesome place to hang out with friends, it had a great atmosphere and the food was awesome as well. I can only hope that the new place will continue on in the same fashion.
Best chili, best dogs, best burgers, best everything. When I was younger, my friend and I would walk to church on Sundays, Genie Weinies was on the way. Lets just say we prayed our parents wouldn't find out that we skipped church for delicious Genies. We couldn't resist.
They have good food, good service and great prices to go along with a clean well maintained restaurant.
It was a long dry spell the 9 months it was closed - but now, I am going there in 1/2 hour and cannot wait. The chili - the "bestest" cheese sticks, the fried mushrooms, the coney dogs - wait I am leaving now can't wait another 1/2 hr. Hope to see you there.
We miss them in Hamtramck but its good to know they are still serving them up! Gotta have the polish sausage.

Attention all Fraser residents if you haven't tried the Genies Wienies yet , you don't know what your missing. My family and I have been going there in Hamtramck for thirty+yrs. and we all loved everything they carry. Each one of us had our favorite. Try it, you'll like them.
Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Genies Wienies is the best family owned and operated coney islands there is there food is original to them you cannot find it any were and people drive for miles to eat there! We travel there bi-weekly as a treat and pick up there party packs for all occasions!! Thanks for staying open!!!!!!! And billy thanks you to!!!!
After working as a waitress for 15 years there I still believe they not only have the Best Cheeseburgers but the greatest waitresses, the only thing I had that some of them weren't blessed with is the fact that I was fortunate to work with the Genie himself, and that is something I will always cherish. The next generation of our family is now employed there. April I hope you have as much fun and enjoy it as much as I did.

The same great taste from the 60's to 2007. My son had his first chili burger a few days ago and can't stop talking about it. Gene may you rest in peace and THANKS for the great years on Conant. GOOD LUCK to the new owners, may you continue the tradition and create new memories.
