Because it's small-ish, and the wonderful exhibits are the focus, not the building.
Atlanta's and the South's hidden treasure--an archeological museum that emphasizes design in it's display of African, Egyptian, Greek/Roman, Near Eastern, and Ancient American Cultures.
The Carlos Museum the opportunity to experience fascinating objects of many different cultures with the context provided by scholars of various disciplines.
Great museum! Great exhibits and intimate setting for a museum. I like the Emory campus setting.
The Carlos Museum is just the right size to be enjoyed thoroughly, and the special traveling exhibits are truly remarkable.

Unparalleled collections, nothing else like it in the S.E. in terms of the Ancient World, wonderful, dedicated staff
It has wonderful collections of classical, African, pre-Columbian, an art from Middle Eastern antiquity.
The permanent exhibits are excellent. The special exhibits and the accompanying lectures are outstanding.
