Welcome to Backstage Hardware & Theatre Supply, a True Value hardware store specializing in scenic supplies. Backstage stocks a full line of Rosco products, Artists' Choice paints and Sculpt or Coat, Tapes (gaff, spike, etc.), Fabrics, Stage Hardware, Trickline, Scatter Snow, Wardrobe Racks, Crowd Control Ropes, Hampers and just regular hardware stuff.

I've done business with them for some time now. I require odd items as I conduct repair on boats and underwater equipment. They always bend over backwards to accommodate me. If they don't have it, they certainly make the effort to find it! They are the best in my book!

The way service is supposed to be and seldom is in this day and age. Eric and Janet are professional, courteous and always make their customers feel like old friends. Stock is excellent. They are not just for the arts. We rent large equipment and they have everything we need. Reggie & Chloe always ready to greet you.

Janet and Eric are personable people who make you feel like you are part of one big theatrical supply family. They will bend backwards to make sure you get what you need for your project and that it is on time as well. I always enjoy ordering through them because we end up discussing not only the job but small things like how my gardening is going. Very caring people.

Forget about just hardware stores. It is one the cleanest, best organized, and most solicitous retail businesses in Boston. Great selection of hard-to-find specialty items. There are workshops on new materials and I have take classes to the store on field trips. Janet and Eric have made it a place where "everybody knows your name."
