DESIgn of Boston Salon was born out of an idea between two people who desired to create an environment that is beautiful, creative and inspirational without the typical corporate lack of soul. This salon is, in fact, a hair design studio that is meant to be small and intimate as well as being a forum for the promotion of art, creativity and the enjoyment of music and conversation. DESIgn of Boston Salon was created in the ultimate desire to be the antithesis of a typical "hair factory" that so many people are used to. We pride ourselves on our focus on creativity, art, ultimate client benevolence and providing the best service available today in any Boston hair salon. DESIgn of Boston Salon represents the synthesis of art, organic elegance, technology, innovative hair design and ultimate customer awareness. Desi is very talented and doesn't conform to what is the most popular haircut, but rather what style will look the best on his clients. He's also a great person.

Desi and Marc are such wonderful people. The salon is so great, I'm almost afraid to vote for it because I want to keep them for myself!! Everyone at DESIgn of Boston makes me LOVE my hair, and they are a joy to be with while they work their magic. Marc is a worker of miracles with his scheduling prowess and always makes me feel like priority #1.

Since the week DESIgn opened, I've been a devotee. I was recently told that I have Rock Star Hair. That's because Desi has magic hands. Remember last week when everyone was going crazy over Reese Witherspoon's hair? Well, he did it, like, a million years ago. And Marc is lovely, ever so charming and can converse with you in the language of your choice. Your hair will be gorgeous no matter what language you speak. I heartily congratulate Desi and Marc on this much deserved nomination.

Honestly, I don't understand the Newbury hype - overpriced styling, jail bar highlights and attitude. Desi and Marc strive to break down the cliche of those hipper-than-thou salons and offer the hands down best hairdressing in Boston. Des knows I like it muted in the winter, rock and roll in the summer and evolves my style accordingly. Marc Voss is also one of the smartest human beings on the face of the planet - great time, great hair awesome, awesome people. Wouldn't go anywhere else, I'd show my roots before that...

I have known Desi for 7 years, I used to pay 700 dollars to get my hair done in new york and they always messed it up - I looked like someone else - like a blond projection of myself. Desi does it right, everytime and I could never be happier!

Desi performed a miracle when he transformed a hair cutting disaster I came in with into WOW ! I enjoyed all the compliments. I love coming in to see Desi and Marc even though I travel from the South Shore . The journey is well worth the Journey.

I went to Design of Boston, a bit hesitantly, as my old hair salon of 6 years, was now too far away and my stylist had left. The stylist listened to me and talked with me, not to me. My second time back, I was with Shannon, and she did a wonderful job, both with the cut and color. Best place I've ever been to, and will continue to go to!

I was very fortunate to meet Desi at another Salon on Newbury Street several years ago...was delighted when Desi & Marc opened up DESIgn of Boston Salon...not only do you get a fab hair makeover with Desi....but you also experience an uplifting, unique encounter at the Salon - great stories, music, movie & art ideas are shared, you get the whole personable, professional treatment here - it is like no other. I just returned home to Ireland after 18 years in Boston and am in search of a Salon like DESIgn of Boston...nothing compares so far......

You can't beat experience. Desi has been cutting hair forever. It is in his blood. You can relax with him, even if it is your first time in his chair. Girleen, you are going to look so good when he is done!

Superb customer service. Desi's creativity, his flexibility and his ability to hear and respond to client requests. I can re-create what he does because he teaches while he styles. Would not go anyplace else.
