Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Riverside Theatre Works educates, enlightens, and entertains families from all over the greater Boston area! Riverside Theatre Works is housed in historic French's Opera House in Hyde Park. For 25 years, Riverside has been training young people in the performing arts. As the only theatre in the Hyde Park area, Riverside strives to offer professional theatre at affordable prices while also offering outreach programs to area students.

RTW's productions are wonderful and it is a wonderful venue for family's to enjoy theater and music at an affordable price in the city! The staff and faculty are top notch and it is all conveniently located next to the Indigo train line in a building rich with history and drama.

I have participated in several productions at RTW and the quality of the work is always superb. They are also doing a great service to the community with the wonderful learning and performing opportunities for young people. Talent shines at Riverside!

Ever since I played Oliver in my first production at Riverside Theatre Works, which was Oliver! (2006), I've always considered RTW as a second home for me. It is a beautiful, good-sized, fun theatre and everyone there, of all ages, are people who I feel comfortable with. Being in, or even seeing, a show at Riverside Theatre Works may be one of the most enchanting experiences of your life.

Riverside is such a warm and inviting theatre. Their productions are top notch and rival professional regional productions. Their staff is kind, experienced and do everything they possibly can to make your experience at RTW as memorable as it could possibly be. Riverside Theatre Works is an amazing family theatre. It does amazing things with what little space they have for productions and the end product is always extremely professional. The talent found there cannot be found anywhere else, and the way you feel once you join a theatre like this cannot be found anywhere else as well.

Riverside Theatre works is a wonderful community theatre. It has been a place where the children can go and gain confidence and learn the Arts and Entertainment. The people of Hyde Park are proud of Riverside.

They have committed themselves to giving children and adults the opportunity to exercise their talent as well as keeping the arts alive in surburban communities; allowing families and theatre lovers a chance to see top shows for a reasonable fee. Kudos to them!!

RTW is so nice. It is like looking out my window at Green Gables at the nice cherry tree in bloom. The directors are great and working there is a great experience for everyone, especially kids.

Riverside Theater is such an amazing place for people of all ages to be a part of. I just resently became a part of the RTW family and it has already changed my life and instilled in me many useful lessons that I will definitely use in the near future. Riverside is a classic family theatre. It may be small, but lots of great things come from it. Riverside is filled with amazing programs and classes that give aspiring young actors a chance to get their first look at Theatre. Riverside is not just about what goes up on that stage but, all the passion and devotion that goes into productions to make them great.

A Riverside Theatre Works Show...is a RTW Show. It is Theatre with a capital T. It is Performance with a capital P. It is art with a capital A. From Simon and Garfunkle a ponder, " Is the Theater Really Dead..." No! It does live and it breathes and its heart pounds life onto a wooden stage and Theatre...Real Theatre washes over you. RTW does what all True Theatre is asked for: it takes you from the rigors of life and wings you away to ART. Make no mistake, we seek what what this great theatre, these great performers, these wonderful, timeless venues bring to us. We walk in in with our lives, we walk out with our dreams.

I am particularly impressed with the training and performances of the very youngest children - they are really poised and proficient. I also think the school offers students lifetime skills. Not everyone can be a professional but all could fit in to local theatre groups everywhere.

Riverside truly represents community theatre at its best by presenting shows with artistic professionalism at an affordable price. Community theatres have been closing down at an alarming rate due to the increased competition for funding in the arts and the lack of capital dollars to keep the facilities in the best shape possible. Riverside is also one of the few theatres with an emphasis on providing children from the inner-city with the opportunity to hone their artistic skill and to perform in professional productions that their whole family can enjoy. We need to support artistic jewels like Riverside that have been giving back to the Boston community for over 25 years.
