Open since January, 2006, the South End Buttery has seen lots of changes, but has already become a fixture in the South End for fine coffees, espresso drinks, loose leaf teas, homemade baked goods and unique sandwiches, soups and salads. A wide assortment of delicious muffins, tea breads, scones, cupcakes, cookies, brownies and tarts are baked fresh daily. The Buttery is also dog-friendly, offering dog oreo cookies (for humans!) and vanilla, chocolate and carrot cake cupcakes named after the owners' dogs (a portion of the cupcake sales benefits animal rescue causes). Peanut butter and jelly cookies and earl grey-infused white chocolate cheesecakes are among the treats that Pastry Chef Lee Napoli whips up for this quaint bakery/cafe right on the premises. In addition to homemade baked goods, the Buttery also offers a creative menu of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches designed by Executive Chef Marisa Iocco.

Best cupcakes in town!
The coffee is fabulous, the location is wonderful, the food selections are phenomenal and I love the staff.
Always a smile on the face of the staff which fosters a nice relaxing environment to read the paper and or catch up with neighbors.
The food is fantastic and the coffee rocks.

This is one of the finest make-overs that I have ever seen in the South End. This place is now light and welcoming with outstanding food and much more room that ever before. The quality of every item they serve is really wonderful. It is truly a treat to visit the South End Buttery. Richard has continued to extend their hours of operation, which is another of his gifts to the community.

Great coffee, great service, great muffins
Friendly staff remember your name, feels like a real "neighborhood" place. Everything is delicious and dogs are VIPs there.

The Buttery is humming every morning with a stream of customers going in to get a latte and a pastry. There a few tables out front where you can sit and relax and mingle with the neighbors. The Buttery is bright and cheerful and service is great.
New and exciting but very pricey
