I went to Beauty Rules Hair Salon today for an appointment with Rachel after a referral from a friend. I was very impressed with the staff in the salon especially the attention to detail I received from Rachel I will definitely return to see Rachel and all the staff again and will be referring Rachel to my family and friends.

Moved to Boston 3 years ago from LA and after 2 years of searching for a stylist I finally found Rachel at Beauty Rules .
She takes her time with me, listens and seems to know exactly what I'm looking for.
This girl is the real deal and a BIG TALENT on Newbury St.

This is a great place. Not only do I get a great cut and color, I work at a hotel in Boston and send our guests there on a regular basis. No one ever comes back unhappy.

Simply, they.know.how.to.cut.and.color.hair. Rachel is amazing, my hair always looks amazing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. I was once late, so Rachel started the next person- even though the delay was my fault, they gave me a free deep conditioning treatment while I was waiting. I recommend this place to everyone

I’m so glad I can share with others about my experiences at this salon. After a few years of having to drive to the NYC for a hair-cut because I had given up on the Boston stylists due to multiple unfortunate experiences ... I finally was recommended to check out this place on Newbury… and I thought, ok, it’s probably going to be the same old disappointment... but nevertheless I trusted my friend and gave it a shot. ...and OMG, I was so surprised!
Richard Bruno blew me away with his styles and color ideas for my hair! And not only me, my coworkers and friends cannot help but complement, and some friends cannot keep their hands off off my hair! :)
I got to tell you, I would recommend my stylist to anybody with confidence that they will absolutely LOVE him! Personally I worship him! :) He is stylish, but totally down to earth. Richard can satisfy the needs not only of the local hipsters (artists, musicians, etc) but also of any other simple working folk like me. Don't be fooled by the location either, the prices are a steal!!! (Just leaves more room for bigger tips!) Go ahead and treat yourself to a head turning do! (I could not keep my hands away from my friend's new hair... it's gorgeous! Now she too is a proud member of the "Beauty Rules fan-club").

I get regular compliments on my hair style and color - probably once a month throughout the whole year. Also, they have a great line of hair care products that are natural and healthy - and they work great. It's also a fun environment, relaxed yet hip, a nice ambiance. The people are very friendly and personable. My stylist is wonderful - Rachel Main.

Beauty Rules has all the luxe of a Newbury Street salon, but without the attitude and overpriced services. The staff is down-to-earth, funny, and great at their work. BR gives discounts for friend referrals which is good because I am always referring people here - and you will too!!

I have had my hair colored all over Newbury Street and Rachel Main truly is the best. I have been going back to her for years now because I love her creativity and style. I followed her to three different salons because she is so great. Beauty Rules is my favorite salon so far. Richard and Kimberly have created a fun and laid back atmosphere with a great range of products and services.
Try Rachel next time you need a color (or cut) - she is the best!!!

This salons atmosphere is engaging and full of great energy. I look forward to my visits and always come away with a great cut and a color that looks natural. Does it get any better than that? Well, yes it does and its worth booking ahead - they have a great spa room in the back where they dish up one of the best manicures and pedicures in town which makes waiting for color or a conditioning treatment a real pleasure.

I come in from Burlington to go to this Hair Salon because Katie does an incredible job on my hair, the color and cut is alway consistent, something that has not always been true at other Salons. This is my first experience with coming to a Salon on Newbury Street and I was intimated to try it. My daughter has been going to them for a while and when she was getting married last October convinced me to try them. Right from the start they made me feel so welcome, nothing intimidating about the salon at all. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I look forward to going there, they all make me feel very special. For these reasons I believe they should be the #1 Salon

Rachel Maine makes Edward Scissorhands look like a novice...she simply cuts the best hair on earth...Beauty Rules is the best because Rachel and the rest of their dynamite staff are the best. When you get cut by the best you look better than the rest.
