LUMIÈRE RESTAURANT is a unique and extraordinary dining experience offering sophisticated food in a simple, refined setting. Michael Leviton's cuisine combines classic bistro elements with modern cooking techniques. The name, Lumière, means "light" in French, and also refers to the Lumière brothers who invented cinema in France in the late 1800's. Michael Leviton thought it was the perfect name as the restaurant is located across the street from a West Newton Fine Arts Cinema , 5 miles West of Boston.

Lumiere is by far the best restaurant in the Boston area!
best food, best service
Food and service are superb. It is a unique gem of a restaurant.
On the dozens of occasions over several years that we have eaten at Lumiere, we have always been delighted with the deliciously creative (but never wacky) flavor combinations of his perfectly prepared dishes. Pure dining pleasure.
