Queen of Hearts pastries make any occasion a royal event! As of November, 2006, The Queen of Hearts is located at 32 East Cross Street in the historic Depot Town District of Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Queen of Hearts is both a special order pastry shop (all and any occasions) and a retail shop. Our custom cakes and pastries are made from scratch using the highest quality and most delicious of ingredients. We offer quite a wide variety of edible delights. Terry Morrow, owner of the Queen of Hearts, began her career in pastry art and design in 1993 after completing culinary school at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. A two-year apprenticeship with Master pastry chef Joseph Decker followed. Terry worked as a pastry chef in several country clubs and Detroit area restaurants including Café Bon Homme in Plymouth, Michigan; and for Chef Brian Polcyn at Five Lakes Grill in Milford, Michigan. Initially the Queen of Hearts made scrumptious pastries and baked goods for Ann Arbor area restaurants and coffeehouses. A desire for closer contact with the folks enjoying her desserts and increased demand for special occasion cakes led Terry to focus more on special order cakes for individual customers. In 1999 Terry and her husband Tim purchased The Drowsy Parrot coffeehouse, a landmark in downtown Saline, Mi. The Queen of Hearts opened right next door. Terry uprooted and moved the Queen of Hearts to the historic Depot Town section of Ypsilanti in November, 2006. Fine pastries, cakes, fresh roasted coffee and espresso drinks have been delighting local and loyal customers ever since. :)

All the cakes are delicious. And I love their nutty breads.

Queen of Hearts must be the best bakery in this state! Yesterday I went inside confused on what to order and two young ladies helped me out, I would like to thank Stephanie and Kayla for their wonderful assistance in choosing me the perfect wedding cake for my ceremony. Without them I wouldn't have found the perfect cake for my honey poo!
I turned to Queen of Hearts for my best friend's baby shower cake and I have to say that it was the most delicious cake I have ever had. Everyone just raved about the design and taste. For a cake this good I'm surprised it doesn't cost a fortune!
They also make the best éclairs I've had this side of the Atlantic.

Vest wedding I've ever had; I've eaten at 3 star Michelin restaurants in Paris, top NYC and San Francisco, Bermuda restaurants-and their cake could easily hold it's own against top pastry chefs' creations....

She did my wedding cake in August 2006. It was the most beautiful, amazingly delicious wedding cake I've ever had. I had so many compliments about the taste. We ate the top layer two days later because it was so good. We will definitely be getting a small cake made for our one year anniversary coming up this August.

The cakes and pastries from Queen of Hearts are exquisite to look at and incredibly delicious to eat! I have been ordering cakes exclusively from the Queen of Hearts since the early 90's. Whether for a large corporate event or intimate family gathering, guests are always delighted when they take that first bite of dessert and consistenly ask me "Where did you get this from?" Pastry Chef Terry Morrow is hands on with all of the baking and time and time again delivers the perfect cake!
Great place. Right in the heart of Depot Town in Ypsi. Just had a cake from there for a 30th anniversary and it was fantastic. Received lots of compliments on it.

Queen of Hearts has the most wonderful cakes, which are beautifully decorated for any occasion. The bakery has done several cakes for my family, granddaughters birthdays, my daughters wedding and my retirement cake. All got rave reviews by those attending the events. I would use Queen of Hearts each time I need cakes for special occasions.
