Downtown Wine and Spirits located on Elm St in Davis Square boasts one of the widest selections of imported beer and wine in the Boston area. Rumor has it that there are over 1,000 different bottles of wine in the wine cellar. Downtown also stocks a huge selection if European, Asian and South American beers.

Best selection of all forms of alcohol I've ever seen. Great music and a friendly staff that will ask to help if you look like you need it. What else can you ask for? Fabulous store.

Incredible selection, fabulous beers, and a staff that doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't know what you want. I always feel like they Want to teach me. Which makes sense - it is what has made me a repeat customer!

This store is like the (dysfunctional) family i never had - but with better taste in beer and music.

The wine department at DT has exploded in context to the past. there shelf tags are helpful and easy to understand (they are in plain english rather than wine lingo) and when in a crunch Alan is always sure to suggest some rare jewel that fits just about every budget and occasion. he also keeps things moving in and out, so there is always new wines to try, it keeps me coming back.

The wine and beer selection is excellent. Alan introduced me to Bemish, Ommengang, Toasted Head, Powers....and some of the best music... It seems those are the only kind of people that work there.

aside from having a good selection of microbrews and a resident Wine Genius named alan, this store has also apparently turned my friend tony (alias, "that kid with the blue hair") into a local celebrity - which amuses me to no end. :)

free wine tastings, free scotch tastings, free beer tastings...plus a cute, well-inked staff that will come to your parties if you ask nicely. they're a lot of fun!
