used be inexpensive, fresh and good taste
if you wanna enjoy real taste of fish, brown rice is not a right choice.

I really like this place....I love that they make their sushi healthier now with brown rice. There is always a wait because the place is tiny and always crowded...but I enjoy the bar-like seating. less formal than sitting face-to-face with one person at a table. Don't go for a nice, relaxing sit-down dinner...but the sushi is great and not too expensive.

This sushi isn't anything spectacular. The brown rice doesn't bother me, but they did up the prices. Sure it's still reasonably cheap, but when I'm on Newbury St. I don't mind paying to eat somewhere nice. If you want sushi on the cheap head to Sushi Express in St. Mary's.

In the past I would have given Shino 5 stars. But, their new "brown rice only" policy is ridiculous. I've been eating sushi with white rice for years. I just went to the Dr. and am in great health. White rice doesn't seem like it has lent itself to my physical deterioration. I understand that brown rice is probably healthier than white rice. However, I don't appreciate not being given the option to choose between the two. Furthermore, I feel that the taste of brown rice is far inferior to that of the white. If you're on Newbury St. and in the mood for sushi this isn't a bad choice, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Especially because you're gonna wait in a cramped corridor for at least 15 min no matter when you show up.

They make their sushi with brown rice only - and it is so good! Really fresh fish and a super convenient location on Newbury Street. Nigiri is only a dollar, and most rolls are under $5. It's usually crowded, but the staff is great about getting you in quickly. They even take your order when you're waiting for a table.
