Mimi Loureiro created O2 Yoga in 1998 as a distinctive and unique yoga practice. O2 Yoga balances many principles of Astanga Yoga with a more creative and less predictable vinyasa-flow format. The result is an athletic and peaceful, invigorating and calming, fun and challenging yoga experience. Like Astanga, O2 Yoga uses heat-generating sequences of postures or asanas, and a mind-focusing breathing technique. Differing from traditional Astanga, O2 Yoga offers a varied sequence of postures with a creative flow, personalized to meet the experience, needs, and desires of students. The primary goal of O2 Yoga is to empower students, allowing them to feel and experience full self-acceptance, outer strength, and inner calm. Mimi's unique style supports students as they learn to trust their intuition and fully embrace their life no matter where they are personally, mentally, physically, or spiritually.

Great, easy going community atmosphere; but most of all, attentive, skilled teachers, who are really good with adjustments and pointers.
Heather is the best teacher I have had for yoga. She explains everything enough for a beginner to follow and to remind regulars how to effectively move through the workout.
O2 is clean with a welcoming environment and has GREAT teachers. I love that their classes are super creative. I always learn something new. The owner Mimi is fantastic!
I started doing yoga at O2 over 6 years ago and have yet to find a class/studio as great as this one! The teachers are excellent and the atmosphere is down-to-earth and relaxed.
The quality of instruction cannot be beat. Yogic philosophy is incorporated in the practice and the classes are varied in difficulty, allowing something for the newbie and something for the experienced student.
I commute to O2 all the way from Woburn for classes... what a difference their classes have made in my life!
A very welcoming and friendly studio. Offers an excellent range of classes for beginners through advanced practitioners. O2 founder Mimi Loureiro's warm eclectic and sensitive teaching style is a welcome relief to an often dogmatic pursuit. Know for her ability to adjust her class presentation to student requests, Mimi can lead you toward advanced postures through a safe and logical sequence. Highly Recommended.
O2 yoga is fun, challenging, and a great way for traditional ashtangis that want to mix it up!
Mimi has built a studio where her beliefs that yoga should be safe, fun, challenging and enlightening is practiced every day in every class. Creativity is everywhere and everyone is welcome and made to feel like they belong there, no matter what level of ability, the moment they walk in the door. Teachers and students alike are taught to practice safely, to listen to what their body's are telling them and then go for the challenge. This is a very quietly spiritual studio, allowing you to find your own path to where you want yoga to take you. Namaste!
02 Yoga is the best studio because of the welcoming and warm atmosphere that they create for their students. All of the teachers know their craft well, and give great classes!!
I love the studio and teachers. A very safe and friendly environment. I have been a member there since they opened.
Best instructors in town! Wonderful combination of support and high expectations.
My girlfriend and I have tried several different Yoga studios in the area, and we both agree, O2 has by far the best instructors. Heather and Elliot in particular are phenomenal.
O2 also has a beautiful space, which helps you relax during the practice, and is well-organized; for instance, their website always has a fully up-to-date class schedule.
advanced postures not taught at other studios, focus on alignment, and creativity
My wife is a member. She loves it there very much. So I decided to go and try a few classes. Now I see why. The instructors are very creative, they ask if there are any specifics you would like to work on, and they help you achieve them. I would definately rate them A++++
Every class is different, you get a great class, and build strength. Always a challenge no matter what level. Also, very fun at the same time.
Classes are great! I think this is the best!!
Instructors and owner very very helpful and friendly.
This place is great. I found my "home." The classes are awesome, the instructors are great. You get a great workout, and it is very "playful" with poses. At least go try a class...and you will understand.
Welcoming atmosphere for all levels of experience; teachers are very helpful and pay attention to all of the participants;
I love the style of practice, the instructors, the people, the owner. I feel they are the best!
O2 Yoga Somerville has been a place for me for years off and on, but is always there for me when I need it and it's a community not just a place to practice yoga!
Because it is community oriented and it brings some of the spiritual teachings of yoga into class. The membership benefits are also great.
I learn something new (new pose, new emphasis or refinement) at every class; teachers are serious about yoga, but present a very friendly and student-focused climate; the teachers take each other's classes; highly recommended!
Classes are never boring. Each instructor is both knowledgable and approachable. Every class feels like a new challenge. Other studios seem to get stuck in a rut, at O2 you are constantly working towards new poses and overcoming personal asana challenges. Just a fantastic place to practice.
O2 Yoga Somerville has a clean, odor-free studio. The teachers are always willing to explain the poses further if you have questions. As a beginner, they encourage me to keep the practice going.
I like the atmosphere and teachers. Feeling I am a persistent beginner their beginner classes are enough to challenge me.
I feel relaxed at the thought of O2. The instructors at O2 are wonderful. The owner, Mimi has really trained the instructors to teach in a consistent style. Classes are challenging but many modifications are given to allow people of various levels to participate in the more advanced classes.
I love O2. The people that practice at O2 are nice; it's just good yoga in a warm atmosphere.
This yoda studio is friendly, open to those new in yoga pracitice, and offer a variety of classes. This is my favorite studio!
the teachers at 02 are wonderful. their variety is their strength. it's a challenging yet supportive atmosphere.
No hassle, no attitude yoga that meets students where they are at, even if they don't have their leg behind their head!
O2 is a place that has something for everybody. It is fun, peaceful, diversed and always doing something for the community.
I really miss o2 yoga. I moved to Colorado last fall and I have found nothing like o2 yoga here. I'm moving back to Somerville and can not wait to take a class!
O2 is a true yoga studio full of a group of people who truly follow the yogi lifestyle without making it too pretentious for the average joe. It has been a spiritual and physical respite for me throughout the years.
Great instruction in a nice setting. The teachers make an effort to know each individual's practice.
