Shield's has been part of Metro Detroit's history since 1937 when Shield's Bar opened at the corner of Davison and Shields Street in Detroit. Shield's later began serving award-winning pizzas and salads and featured the ever-popular square, deep-dish pizza. Shield's quickly became a landmark and a favorite gathering spot for families, politicians, athletes and public figures alike.

My family used to order from "the other" deep dish pizza place. Then I had Shield's at a friends house. I convinced them to try Shield's and now that's all we ever order! Shield's scores perfect ten in my house!

I don't even consider Shield's a pizza place. They have so many great lunches and dinners. It's perfect for anytime, not just pizza time. Try the Chicken Ciabatta... They even have great reubens(and I'm picky)!

I was never a big fan of pizza until my boyfriend introduced me Sheild's. Now I can't get enough! During Football season just add beer!
