Pizzeria Regina

Since 1926, Pizzeria Regina has been greeting customers in the North End of Boston with a hearty “Welcome to Boston’s Original Pizzeria!” For over three generations, Regina’s delicious brick oven pizza has been inspired by the love of good food and the special pride of the Polcari Family. As in the beginning, Regina’s pizza is made with only fresh, all natural ingredients, special seasonings, the finest toppings and baked in a brick oven.

My parents left me in the car to teethe on Regina's crust when I was a few month's old. Connie, Marie and Mary were the holy trinity of waitresses there forever and made you feel like you had come home. Get a plain pizza with extra oil. There is no pizza like Regina's and the restaurant at 11 1/2 Thatcher Street is the most romantic spot in America.

This vote is for the ORIGINAL Pizzeria Regina, not any of the others. Love that place. Have been going there since I first met my husband, over 40 years ago. He was in college and his favorite waitresses there were Connie and Mary. Connie thought it was wonderful he always brought me there and she declared one of the booths "our booth". DId not matter who was sitting there or when--if we came in, she moved them as soon as she could so we could sit there. We shared wedding pictures with them, brought our sons in to meet them--and now our very adult sons always head there for their pizza fix when they are in town.

I recently went to Pizza Regina for lunch and was astounded with the great cheese combination as well as the freshest pieces of vegetables and chunks of chicken on one of their pizzas. It was heaven to my tongue.

Just thinking about Pizzeria Regina makes my mouth water. The pizza is delicious. It's so popular that there is almost always a line out the door, but the service is so quick that you're never waiting too long!

When guests are visiting from out of state & they want thin crust, brick oven pizza we head here. It's even worth the wait in line on a cold day or night. Everyone has to try it just once & they'll keep coming back. Maybe I shouldn't tell everyone because the lines will be even longer........Love it!!!!

The Pizza is made like a pizza should be made w/ oily surface, tander crust w/just enough bite and texture. The cheese blend can not be duplicated. I only wish I could get the seceret formula to that sauce. WOW. what a pie!

Boston is filled with pizza joints that make greasy Greek style pizza - Pizzeria Regina is the only pizza place that makes authentic NY style pizza. It's the real deal.
