The Harvest Co-op Market has two locations. One is on Mass Ave. in Central Square, Cambridge, and the other is on South Street in Jamaica Plain. Both stores have a great selection of fresh fruit and fresh salads to make it easy for you to pick up fresh lunch on the run. Harvest has been community owned since 1971

My wife Jane and I do most all of our shopping at Harvest. Once a month we take advantage of the 'discount day'. We have been member since 1981. It is always clean, and fruits and vegetables are well presented. Large variety of items available.

The store is within walking distance and a few steps from a subway stop. Free parking available after 5PM and week-ends

I love the harvest coop. we just moved here from Vermont, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find real food. Turns out, we can! Not only that, but they have all my favorite gluten free stuff, too...

For all the people I have met at this market it really feels like the markets I remember from years gone by in my child years in the tropics and in the small towns of this country. I enjoy the
'diversity' of foods available. There are also a variety of herbs and supplements available! It feels like walking into a small village! I've already considered doing my next tv production there! Everybody should hear about them!!!

The Cambridge Harvest was the only place worth lunching at when I worked at MIT/LIGO. The food is delicious as well as healthy, and I met many amazing people there as well.

I have been a member of the Harvest Co-operative Supermarkets, in its various iterations, for more than 20 years, and the more I know about food, food production, and the Co-op, the more I love the Co-op. One of their philosophies is "Food for people, not profit," and I genuinely believe that, as a result, I and my family are healthier than we would be if we were not members of the Co-op. Also, one of the principles of co-operative organizations is that education is a crucial and integral part of the organization and the work that is carried out. I learn a great deal every day from the co-op and not only appalling health statistics. In addition to those, I learn healthful practices, principles and information. Finally, I have learned over time that there really is a difference, however subtle, between an organization of which one is a member and therefore an owner or one who has a very vested interest, and an organization in which one is only a customer or a consumer.

I think Harvest Co-op Market is the best because it is always trying to get the best organic and natural products at a price that is affordable to the income sensitive community. Also, being a co-op it is owed by the community and it is always sensitive to its members and costumers' needs and wants. They also promote local farmer products.

I like especially their bulk bins for many hard to find products. The bulk items which may be found in other stores are much cheaper at Harvest. I like that the give a discount to senior citizens and that they encourage people to bring a bag. I like very much the friendly helpful attitude of the workers.

Harvest is consistent. You can always get fresh, organic, locally grown, beautiful quality greens and veggies. Locally grown fruit in season is so superior to anything trucked from a great distance, and often, Harvest is the only source nearby. In the off season, Harvest always has a broad selection of organic and conventional fruits - anything you could want. It's consistent, dependable!
