Plan B Cycling would like to Thank Bicycle Retailer and Industry News for their recent BRAINy Award for The Best New Bike Shop and everyone that has made this past year possible. Steve and Tracy Bodnaruk opened the doors to Plan B Cycling a year ago come April 1st, 2008. The idea of having an impressive line of bicycles and accessories with the idea of taking customer service to the next level was the primary goal. Steve BODNARUK (Owner) took the 15+ years he had in the Bicycle Industry and mixed it with the look of an upscale coffee shop and Plan B Cycling came to life. A vision of bringing people together to live the cycling lifestyle by having a place to join in on educational clinics, fundraisers and group rides has become a reality. Plan B has training clinics every month and offer these educational, hands on workshops to every level rider. Guest speakers, such as, Sara Mclarty (Pro Triathlete), Darren Cox (Ironman Kona Finisher), Helen Cox (Ultramarathoner), Cody Smith (Industry Veteran), Keith Johnston (Chiropractor/LMT), Rob Wallace (Personal Trainer/Tigershark Event Owner) and Greg Eisele (Owner of Spikes Footwear) make these clinics informative, professional and unique. They have also been involved in giving back to the community of Port Orange and fellow cyclists. Toys for Tots, MS150 Ride Sponsorship/Team, Benefits for Sam I Am, and a LIVESTRONG event to promote cancer Awareness are ways they give back, promote and support the people around them. Plan B Cycling is about the lifestyle which is why they have an extensive calendar of ongoing events. They have also partnered up with Tigershark Endurance Events to be a main sponsor in a local Triathlon and Biathlon Series. Steve’s experience in being a Professional Bicycle mechanic, Bicycle Sales Representative for some of the Top High-end companies, Bicycle Shop manager, as well as, being F.I.S.T Certified gives Plan B Cycling an edge over other Bicycle Shops. Plan B offers Ladies and Men’s Cycling, Swimming and Running apparel, helmets, nutrition, shoes and repairs in addition to the Bicycle lines Orbea, QR, Pinarello, Litespeed, Felt, Cervelo and Bianchi. Steve not only sells cycling but lives the lifestyle himself. Training for a triathlon, competing in local runs, Road & MTB Races, group rides and events are Steve’s way of staying connected to his customers. Tracy BODNARUK (Owner) not only rides/runs but strives to bring a softer side to the shop to encourage ladies to feel more comfortable at Plan B. Ladies Only clinics, a comfortable atmosphere, complementary drinks are a few ways they try to take away the intimidation factor that some bicycle shops portray. Plan B Cycling is only getting started and looks forward to many more years of promoting a healthier lifestyle. i have visited the plan b many of times and the owners were great and there workers were so help ful and a pleasure to meet. i cant wait to go there again. good luck plan b.
