Phyllis Lockwood Geiger, owner of Peterbrooke Chocolatier, says the company's chocolate-covered popcorn - which she calls a "pure gift from God - was created by accident. "It was back in 1984 when I had my first little chocolate shop in San Marco Square, that I inadvertently invented it," she said. "All the San Marco merchants were giving away free samples at the annual Holiday Magic celebration, and I had a shop full of very expensive handmade items that I couldn't afford to give away. I ran down to the theater, got some fresh popcorn and sprinkled chocolate on it so we'd have something to give, too." This past holiday season, Peterbrooke sold more than 5 tons of chocolate-covered popcorn. "It's turned into our most popular item," laughs Geiger. "A true holiday blessing!"

I met the owners as a patron in Jacksonville, I guess it is the same folks, as the chocolate, especially the chocolate potato chips are still addictive, and the quality is exceptional.

The service is incredible. My whole family loves it. Chocolate covered popcorn...clever. I use that for a reward for my children when they go above and beyond. This place is fabulous. I love the Gelato.

The chocolate is delicious, and they don't hesitate to offer guests samples of chocolate-covered popcorn or espresso beans--and they greet customers warmly! And the chocolate is incredible!

The chocolate-covered popcorn is a social sensation that you can taste, mingling the sweet with the salty! I've got to have it around. The best part is that Peterbrooke allows you to sample the goodies. Sometimes I visit thinking I will just have a small taste, but I cannot resist bringing something home.

The chocolate covered popcorn is addictive! Walking into the Uptown Altamonte store is liking walking into my grandmother's kitchen. Something is always "cooking", and the service is unbeatable. Free samples galore. Love it!!!
