On a budget? Somerville gots what you neeed!

OK so Somerville, or "The Ville" (yah I'm corny) is an absolute gem for those who enjoy being a part of neighborhood instead of a body in the city. Theres plenty to do in this small city but its got a great homey feel. While Somerville has so many amazing places to list, we will narrow it down to wallet friendly spots to enjoy my favorite little town without the guilt! When you are done reading, you will love The Ville just as much as I do.

Somerville Theatre
What a great little old school theatre. They show a couple good movies at a time and serve beer and wine! Definitely a score.

Johnny D's
My first experience here was Sunday Jazz Brunch. Awesome brunch with fun cocktails and great atmosphere. They have vegetarian options that are fantastic for brunch. In fact, I'm not a vegetarian but I always end up getting something off the vegetarian options for breakfast. If that didn't turn me on enough, they have live music every night. I saw Karl Denson here once which is a nice treat. No cover for brunch but definitely check before you go for night time prices, it depends on the act. A great hang out and great music, what more can you ask for?

The Broken Yolk
SO I know I said Soundbites was my favorite breakfast place but Broken Yolk is definitely up there. The Tex Mex breakfast burrito is to die for. Everything on their breakfast and lunch menu is so good! I always take people here when they are visiting from out of town.

Downtown Wine and Spirits
Great liquor store with a fabulous selection of good beers. Aside from the many micro brews they also have a good selection of imported stuff. I love belgian beer and they have shelves and shelves of em!!! Average prices are lower than those rip off liquor stores. Any beer lover knows a good brew doesn't always have to kill your wallet.

Razzy's
Yah, so it looks sketchy from the outside but there is a great young crowd in here. Walk through the front bar, all the way to the back room which is kind of hard to find. They have a huge projector screen for the game and great Trivia on Thursdays! Free popcorn and $8 pitchers of Molson is a definite plus. They also sell cheap pre-made food at the back bar if you get the beer munchies.
-
Sligo Pub
A great little hole in the wall. They used to have $3.50 Guinness but have raised their prices to $4. I still love going in there to have a few pints
-
Mike's Food & Spirits
Mike's has it all in one stop. You order your food cafeteria style but they have a few big TVs and it overlooks Davis Square for some great people watching. The menu is absolutely huge and inexpensive and I have never had something I didn't like from here. To top it all off, they have a small bar and lots of beer. They have cheap beer specials and some good stuff on tap and also serve 32oz. Oh yah, and the pizza is to die for! Share a pie with some friends and watch the game.

Supreme Kitchen
I love coming here for breakfast AND lunch. A little hidden gem in Somerville. Everything on the menu is cheap and delicious. They have 7 different kind of eggs Benedict, all of them, fabulous! Convenient location right across from Somerville Hospital.
-
Poor Little Rich Girl
I got the cutest brown heels from here from some great French designer for $35 bucks instead of retail price for $350! One of my favorite shops, I love vintage and finding great new ways to wear it... if you have time to look around, this place is a gem.
-
Anna's Taqueria
Right in the hustle of Davis Square; it's always packed with the Tufts crowd. So delicious, I don't know what I would do without Anna's. Notoriously inexpensive
-
Diesel Cafe
Great cafe with WiFi and a huge assortment of coffee drinks. They know what they are doing here with the decor, vibes and most of all, the food! Great for sandwiches and salads and don't forget to try some fresh baked goods
-
Soundbites
By far the best eggs Benedict I have ever had. This place is packed from 8am through the afternoon on the weekends. You can grab some coffee from the counter while you are waiting in line outside to grab a table. Reasonably prices and well worth the wait for the best breakfast around.

Redbones
-
Kickass Cupcakes
The name says it all
-
McKinnon's Meat Market
Wide variety of meats to please everyone. They marinate all sorts of chicken and pork so you can just throw it on the grill. Roasts, ribs, stuffed pork chops and a great deli all for the lowest prices around. They also have a small section of fresh produce to compliment your meal.
-
When Pigs Fly Bakery
Amazing bread! I have never had anything bad from here. They keep balsamic vinegar, olive oil and some of their jams out to try and you can sample any type of bread before you buy. It is $4 for a loaf but it's huge and the best fresh baked bread around. Who needs low-carb diets? When Pigs Fly I say!
