The Orlando Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do is dedicated to providing the best instruction in traditional karate in a Christian environment. This school prides itself on the practice of "traditional" karate. Traditional karate demands that the mind, body and spirit be trained as one. As our Grand Master, Shoshin Nagamine said, "The mastery of karate-do requires dedication and strenuous effort. To pursue karate means to seek to master one's self." Although proper technique and intellectual understanding are important, we are equally concerned with the students attitude and dedication. Students need to demonstrate a willingness to learn and a tenacity to never give up.

Student since 1995 and because of this school, a lifelong martial artist....there is no better instruction in Orlando where you will also find the true essence of the martial arts :)

The school is run by a good Christian family that has studied in Karate for over 35 years. The prices are so cheap compared to that of other martial arts places. All members are nice and there is no hazing or bullying of any kind, because it calls for expulsion.

I have known Renshi Geoff Gaudoin for many years before I joined his dojo. He is truly a remarkable man of character and integrity who cares for us all and. It is his kindness and traditional skill that has kept me and my family at Okinawan Karate Do since 1999. Other families have been there longer and will agree, it's not a value for a price, its an honor for a lifetime.

Okinawan Shorin-Ryu is a Japanese style martial arts studio located in Orlando. I am very pleased with their training focus and the quality of service they provide. The Dojo maintains a very family-oriented and kids-friendly environment. I have two young children enrolled there for about a year now, and I am planned on continuing on. I love when they sit in a circle and discuss how to recognize and deal with danger. This helps me reinforce the value of self defense, good manners, and respect for others. The role plays and practice for emergency situations assure me that we picked the right place to train our children...great people, great instructors, and great friends!

Geoff (the instructor and owner) is a great teacher and person to be around. He is willing to put the extra effort/ patience in order to teach you. I think his and his families' caring/ hardworking personalities rub off on other people and make it a fun environment.

I'm convinced this is the best Karate DoJo a parent could possibly find for their kids. The Gaoudoin's are 200% committed to all students. All the Sensei's are positive and personable. The way they gently command respect and inspire the students is truly remarkable.
