Jim and Suzy Gullette have great passion for the wines they produce and make an impressive number of premium block designated Sangioveses. The subtle differences soils, terrain and orientation to sun exposure are a delight to experience. They are a premier producer of this varietal within the US that is more difficult to grow than most other grapes. They also produce Zin from the oldest vines in California, a killer Barbera, Muscato and Grappa. To top it off, they have one of the original Doggie Diner dog heads, nicely restored, in their parking lot and an awsome Bocce ball court!
Their Sangioveses can blow your socks off.
I brought one bottle of Marmellata together
with an Italian Brunello 3 times more expensive
at a blind tasting party run by a French friend,
and everyone thought the Noceto was the Italian
Brunello! The best kept secret in Amador,
and I hope it stays that way!
We just discovered this winery and the wonderful wines they have to offer. Highly recommend. This was a great place to visit, fun, relaxing and I couldn't help myself from joining the "big nut" club.
Mmmm... Marmellata, Dos Oakies, and Hillside.
Delicious wines and friendly faces every time we visit.
Very good wine without pretense, good service without snootiness, and small family business atmosphere without faux anything.
It is the nicest and friendliest winery in that area and produce some of the finest reds!
The wines are impeccable. The winery still has that family flavor and friendliness. The way wines and wine tasting should be: Delicious, fun and informative.
Amazing Sangiovese, Barbara and Old Vine Zin. Year to year consistently outstanding. A great winery for tastings, relaxed and unpretentious.
Noceto makes Sangioveses that are the best in the US. Their Zins are also superb as is their Barbera (and other offerings). Jim and Suzy run the best winery are are great people! I love their wines and recommend them above all others!
The best wine! With my wine from Noceto Wines, I always leave everyone wanting more.
Year after year great Sangiovese, good value, always expanding their Italian choices, wonderful folks, really care for and take care of their customers.
Family owned, personal style winery with excellent wines. The owners and employees are all wonderful and helpful. Reasonable prices and the wines are excellent
You think you're back in Tuscany when you taste their delicious sangioveses. These lovely, complicated wines are way better then the ones often offered in many of SF-area's top restaurants.
The people at Vino Noceto have been committed to Sangiovese for man years. This variety is hard to find in California and Vino Noceto does an excellent job of producing not one, but many block selections. In addition to the awesome Sangiovese their Barbera and Zinfandel are some of the best of the region in my opinion.
Wonderful Grappa! Pity you cannot ship it!! A great winery, good wine and friendly owner.
Excellent wines, knowledgeable staff, delightful owners. A winery with a great sense of humor.
Vino Noceto has the best Sangiovese in the area. Their product is consistently excellent and ages well. Great product.
We have visited Vino Noceto winery many times and have always had a delightful time tasting the outstanding sangiovese wines produced by Jim and Suzy Gullett. The setting is lovely and the staff is warm and very informative. It is always a relaxing and friendly time to be had while partaking of the marvelous wines but watch out for the grappa!!!!
Consistently good wines from one year to the next....speaks well of the winemaker and quality of grapes!
As a member of their wine club "Big Nut" we love all the Sangiovese Wines produced by Vino Noceto. The owners Jim and Suzy Gullett bring their wines to life during the the special events "Behind the Cellar Door", "The Big Crush" and their annual open house. You got go for a visit and taste a truly great wine.
