My favorite food spots around Tufts

These are my favorite restaurants around Tufts' Medford/Somerville Campus. Special honorable mention for Urban Gourmet and Jay's Deli RIP

Tasty Gourmet
Tasty has great sandwiches. They have melts, wraps, but best of all big, hulking grilled panini. They use panera bread -- my favorite was the Sierra Turkey on Foccacia. Sometimes the fries are a bit much, but they're ...well...tasty! They have a breakfast menu, but I think the sandwiches are better.

East Asia
Easily my favorite Chinese takeout/delivery spot around Tufts. Great lunch/dinner specials -- it's not authentic Chinese by any measure, but it's damn good and not greasy. I suggest the kung pao chicken special. I love the hot and sour soup even though its far from traditional.

Soundbites
The mecca of breakfast spots in Ball Square. They moved next door from their old spot, but the food's the same. Good omelettes, good eggs bene. I don't like the homefries, but that's just me.

Nick's House of Pizza
Good greek-style pizza on Boston Ave. I love the pepper and onion pizza. They also make good subs (good pastrami)
-
The Danish Pastry House
Great bakery/cafe with good coffee, free wireless and a good vibe. Staff is uber-friendly. Try a kringle.

The Broken Yolk
Breakfast spot that is always packed to the gills. It's certainly not the best food around, but they make good muffins and do all the staple breakfast stuff. Good iced coffee too.
