Lake county's newest and freshest sushi. Japanese family owned and operated. Located in Beautiful historic Mt.Dora downtown walking district. Great day trip for the family and great sushi destination for anytime! We support local artists so come on in and bring your Asian inspired art to sell or buy some and take it home :) Only open 6 mos and we already have a new expanded menu to keep you coming back..See you soon!

Everything on the menu is wonderful! From the lovely shumai to the fabulously non-greasy and perfect tempura and incredibly fresh sushi - I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Owners are so nice and hospitable. Wait staff always attentive. My family and I pray it will stay in business forever!

Ate there for lunch today and they were slammed. I don't think they expected to be so awesome. It was worth the wait and we will be back

Mt Dora Sushi is the best new restaurant in Mt Dora. Owners are friendly and make you feel right at home. Sit at the sushi bar and enjoy talking with what will soon be new friends. Try the Passion Roll, the chicken teriyaki, and some unagi, and for fun, add some sake !

I recently had the pleasure of eating at the Mt. Dora Sushi restaurant. It was awesome. Great service and such attention to detail in the preparation of the food. The quality compared to other sushi restaurants was outstanding. The difference is delicious.

Fabulous and my favorite weekly place to go. I was suprised to see the comment below about the fish so went in and talked to Takashi about it. He said ALL fish is flash frozen at sea and inspected, stamped and approved before reaching market. Every fish delivered has a time/temp history record and kept on file in the rest. The DIFFERENCE is their fish is not frozen vac packed in GAS. It is delivered fresh and not in a frozen state. He also said health dept was there on Tues 7/8 and was told he had an exceptionally clean restaurant. Thats public record and I believe it because I eat here and see it. That guy below can stay away. Its more for me :)
Oh, and they have UNI here which I am told is not ever frozen, ever.

Great staff, great sushi, wonderful atmosphere! My 10 yr old daughter and I love the Edamame and hot green tea! The decorative touch with each sushi or sashimi dish is a pleasant suprise--Takashi is an excellent sushi chef! We look forward to returning many, many times!

My favorite sushi bar- hands down. Owners listen to customers and make adjustments since they are new. I like that I can have say in creating a great experience for others. Everything is fresh and made to order.

This is a great place. The decoration is charming and the sushi is the best in Lake County. I took my mother to Mt. Dora Sushi and dare her to try a piece of my Gator Roll and she loved it. You should know that my mother doesn't like seafood or sushi. Now the Gator Roll (shrimp tempura with krab and spinash) is her favorite thing in the world. She eats it every day now.

This is a little gem in downtown Mt. Dora. One of the best places for sushi with a great atmosphere. The gator roll is the best (not gator meat) but shrimp tempura with krab, spinash and mayo. Uhmmmm. We have it every day.

Fantastic place to cap off our 4th of July holiday in Mt.Dora. Some people told us to go check it out and it was really good. We are very happy we stopped and will tell others to go. We liked the orlando roll and the snowbird roll. Nice presentation and clean

Hee hee thats me in the pic at the pajama sake bomb birthday party bar crawl. Thanks Mt.Dora sushi for adding to a great night in Mt.Dora. The sake bombs were a big hit and you made some big fans with the dumplings you brought out for us THANKS!

Excellent sushi! This was our first time here and it out bested all the rest. We were very impressed with the great menu and the fact the owners have actually tried and tested all their rolls and didn't just slap together a bunch of ingredients like we've had in other sushi bars. Great place Mt.Dora Sushi!

Even though this restuarant just opened, it is still doing incredibly well, especially in light of the economic recession. There is only one way to outlast hard times and that is by happily catering to the customers needs and having the freshest, tastiest food around. It is family-owned and operated and each family member is open to conversation and constructive criticism, which offers a ton of opportunities to create the perfect meal to your own taste. I love sushi and Mt.Dora's Sushi! Thank you for coming to Mt.Dora!!!

Amazing place with a whole lot of character. The owners are Japanese and they decorated the place all on their own using real Japanese style. They even dug and put in their own koi pond by themselves. I have to give them kudos. They are hard workers and their sushi is amazing

This is the best place to go to for dinner in all of Lake County. It has only been there a few months but I am already bringing my friends and loving every time I go. You will NOT be dissappointed. It is fresh and clean.

I can't say enough about how good this place is. It is clean, comfortable and the sushi is the freshest around. I will never drive to orlando for sushi ever again. They have nice presentations and great lunches called Bento boxes. I like the artwork they have on the walls too but the real masterpieces are the meals.

Amazing and delicious fresh sushi right here in little Mt.Dora.
Great rolls- yoou have to get the gator roll and check out all the specials. Japanese owned so the food is pretty authentic. No fried rice here. Look out Orlando, Here we come!

Wow, I can’t say enough good things about Mt Dora sushi. The freshest fish the hottest wasabi this side of the Atlantic. Friendly, attentive service second to none in the area. I have eaten Sushi all over the east coast for years and Mt Dora Sushi House ranks in the top five, the best in Lake County hands down. My wife and I have date night every Saturday and we always look forward to our night out at the Mt Dora Sushi House. We also found another gem there, the owner’s daughter Janet a full time realtor who donates her time to the family business at night and sells by day. On our first visit to the sushi house we mentioned to Janet that our company had transferred us here and we were looking to buy a home. The next week we returned to find that Janet had pulled numerous listing and had them waiting for us at the sushi bar. She is defiantly a top notch agent who knows her industry. She found us our perfect home and closing was flawless. (Highly recommended agent) Don’t drive to Orlando for sushi when the best is in your own backyard.

Me Likey. I've only been once but I plan to go again. Great food and the saki/beer selection was surprising. Fish was fresh and plentiful on the rolls that my wife and I ordered. The white tuna was awesome. It's nice that the food was served as it came off the line as opposed to waiting for everything to be prepared. (The hot stuff is actually hot when it hits the table) We got our first dish within 5-10 minutes of ordering and it kept rolling out as it was prepared.
FYI- If they say it's spicey, be prepared, it's HOT!
Service was good and they offered free samples of new rolls that weren't yet on the menu. I like free and I hate waiting an hour for food so the quick service and free samples put them over the top. It's good. You'll like it.
Oh yeah - The wasabi is actually real wasabi!!! It's not the dilluted wussabi everyone else pushes.
The other thing you need to know is that parking in the Koi pond is not allowed. Ask the staff to explain that one and tell them you want to see the pics!!! Funny stuff! or just order some Koi Rolls and be sure to specifiy (w/o tire treads please).

This sushi bar deserves TEN stars. It is fresh and clean and a cool place to go. My friend sells her art there and we love the idea that they support the artist community while serving delicious sushi and rolls. I think we have been there every week(sometimes twice/week) since they opened in Feb!

Wow. I can't believe I'm the first person to rate this place! This sushi bar has only been open a few months in downtown Mt.Dora and is already the big buzz. They have the best variety and freshest sushi I have had in all of Central Florida. It is worth the trip for any orlando dwellers!!
