They have a great variety of flavors but also have the great simple ones like cinnamon, lemon, and peach. Everything is hand made in the store.

First, the ice cream is really delicious -- very creamy, served at just the right temperature, and in a variety of flavors. Second, Moorenko's is in what I think is an old Burger Chef restaurant -- very retro, without having to fake it. Third, the servings are generous. Fourth, the people working there are great -- very friendly. And finally, it seems I almost always run into a friend at Moorenko's -- it's my type of "Cheers" -- a neighborhood ice cream shop! -Mike Moriarty

Moorenko's (in McLean) is so much more than an ice cream store. It's got an eclectic and vibrant vibe, and the owner, Susan Soorenko, is as sweet as the goods! And, of course, the ice cream is TO DIE FOR. Flavors -- like Cookie Overload and Rice Pudding -- are inventive, while the classics -- like Chocolate -- will make you want to take your clothes off. It's like sex for your tastebuds. No kidding. If you haven't been to Moorenko's, you're truly missing out.

Moorenko's Ice Cream starts with an outstanding vanilla. It is smooth and creamy but not too heavy. The vanilla flavor comes through clearly. I would place its vanilla against the vanilla of any of the other local ice creameries or national ice cream chains. At Moorenko's, I just love the following flavors: Orange Cream (Vanilla/Orange mix), Peppermint, and specialty flavor Salty Carmel. Beyond the ice cream is a friendly and helpful service staff at the Silver Spring store. If you haven't tried the ice cream here, you need to do so.

Omg.......Moorenkos is the absolutely the freshest, most perfect ice cream I have ever had. We have to go Moorenkos at least three or more times a week and we always have a couple of quarts in the freezer. When my daughter had oral surgery recently, the first thing she said when she came out of her anesthesia was "mom, can we have Moorenkos?" I really hope they win.

Unlike other ice cream shops, the shop is large and you can sit down at one of many tables with your children...plus, the chairs, tables and tablecloths are all different sizes and shapes, with wild colors. Just a really cool place!

It is totally "homegrown" in terms of ownership and management. Everyone goes there--I always see friends when I go. The ice cream is unbelievably wonderful. The kids who work there are great. The flavors they offer are totally unique and creative and DELICIOUS! It is exactly what every community needs!

Absolutely delicious homemade ice cream in many flavors. Although this is off the beaten track for downtown Silver Spring, it is worth the trip. And unlike the chains, the ice cream is so good that it's worth the money!

Moorenko's makes incredibly rich and creamy "ultra premium" ice cream. They have a huge variety of flavors and toppings - I especially like Bittersweet Chocolate!

Every week Moorenko's Ice Cream Cafe creates an inspired, sensational "flavor of the week". Some of my favorite "flavors of the week" have been Limoncello sorbet, Salted Caramel ice cream, Orange Creamsicle sherbet and Pear ice cream.

The people who work there - I have a dad who has esophageal cancer - can only swallow liquids. He wants a strawberry sundae - just juice, no strawberries. They are happy to comply - anything to make him happy and he has a smile on his face every time with a Huge Thank You - the customer is treated with respect and dignity. Thanks Moorenko's Ice Cream Cafe for making a 92 year old happy.

Moorenko's has the best tasting ice cream, the most original flavors, and everyone's favorite: Flavor of the Week!! I try to make it there at least once weekly to try the FOTW and they're always outstanding. Moorenko's also offers excellent customer service! They're my fave, hands down!

Ultra Premium organic ice cream and sorbets you do not get anywhere else. Made fresh one or two batches at a time daily. Not trucked in from anywhere. That's why they are the best!

The flavors are to die for. My favorite sorbet is Grapefruit Campari. The MegaJolt coffee ice cream has to be experienced to be believed. Quirky surroundings and service with a big smile. I aften take an extra tub of ice cream home!
