Matthew Gross was offered an apprenticeship at a local jewelry store. His interest continued throughout high school where he attended classes in art and jewelry design. Upon completing high school, Matthew attended the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, California where he became a Graduate Gemologist. After further study, Matthew became a member of the International Society of Appraisers. He later became employed as a Senior Designer and Chief Gemologist in Stamford, Connecticut. Upon his return to the Metro Detroit area, he decided to open his own jewelry studio in downtown Berkley, Michigan, where he designs, creates, sells, repairs, appraises and restores jewelry pieces.

Matthew does some of the most fabulous work. It's creative, innovative and so absolutely beautiful. He is also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet which comes through in his work. He is able to make that special, original piece exactly right for each individual customer. Matthew's work is far superior to almost any I've ever seen because he is painstakingly patient and exact about every piece he designs. I would highly advise anyone who wants a custom piece to go and see Matthew. You'll be very glad you did.

Matthew designed our wedding rings 10 years ago -- they are still beautiful and still attract compliments. Many of our friends have purchased their rings from MHG. Mathew designed a beautiful necklace for me and when I wear it I get loads of complements. Even a jewler in Scottsdale commented on how nicely it was made. Mathew also reset a and redesigned a wedding ring for me. I would not hesitate to work with Mathew. He listens to what you want and also is creative at the same time. He is an honest business man.

Matt is one of the nicest and most talented people I have ever met.
He really listens to you and gets a feel for what you want and then designs it. I had my Mom's ring redesigned and it looks incredible. She would have been so happy .

Matthew recently designed rings for my husband and I for our June 2nd wedding, and heart necklaces for his 8 and 9 year old daughters to receive during the ceremony. He created a scroll that was incorporated into the design on all 4 pieces. Feeling that Matthew really understood what we wanted, my expectations were high, but he managed to exceed them! I was so excited and in awe when I saw the finished products. WOW!

Matthew has made a few rings for my family. If you take him an idea, he will run with it and make something beyond your imagination. He is very creative. He can design something simple and elegant, or flashy and bold. His artistic talents are what a person wants in a custom jeweler.

Matthew's designs are exquisite!! I had him redo my wedding ring, I decided after 13 years of marriage I needed an upgrade! He did a fabulous job!!! We also get to see many of his creations before anyone else!! Since we are just across the street from him, I love to see his creativity in jewelery designs.

Matthew designed and made my engagement ring. It is the most beautiful piece of art I have ever seen and I am so proud to wear it.
