What makes us the best? Our customers make us the best! No where else will you find people who are friendly, energetic, caring, responsive, dynamic, or as outspoken as here @ Lambda Rising. You guys are the ones that keep us going. Each one of you, as different as you all are, has made us "the best." And we thank you so much for that! We can't wait to see you all again!

The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Especially the cute guy behind the counter that asked me to pinky swear that I would vote for Lambda Rising.

They shipped books to our lgbtq student group in W Lafayette Indiana, Purdue University. We have no bookstore like Lambda Rising in Indiana and they really reached out to us and have been a true resource for lgbtq people in Indiana and here in Washington DC. Thanks for all you do, Deacon! ~Michelle

Lambda Rising is really responsive to community input. They do a good mail-order service for those who can't come in in person and they have consistently educated the public about the growth in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender literature and resources, which is especially precious in a government town whose current occupiers would seek to deprive us of much of this information.

I've been shopping at Lambda Rising since the 90's online and in-person when I lived in Takoma Park, Maryland. Either way, my experience has been a pleasureable one. Deacon Maccubbin and his staff has always provided personal, diligent and prompt service to me. Even though, I've moved back to Jacksonville, Florida, my hometown, I still purchase my books from Lambda Rising. Sincerely, Broderick D. Smith

Great service, diverse offerings, knowledgeable staffers who obviously love books and the community, the sense of belonging, a connection with history. Lambda Rising, to me, represents independence and freedom - two things that ought to go hand-in-hand with books.

I think they call this bookstore the heartbeat of the gay community, and that's certainly not far off. Lots of energy, lots of great books and DVDs. I love cruising there, especially on Saturday afternoon.
