this is my business

Why are The Lakota Bakery cookies so special? It’s because we make them all from scratch, and we use the highest quality ingredients. Most of our cookies have more butter and chocolate than sugar in them, so they are more rich than sweet. All the cookies are scooped by hand, shaped by hand, filled by hand, then dipped and decorated by hand. It takes time and it’s hard work, but the result is cookies that are extraordinary!

Every time I am in the Boston area (I now live in Ithaca NY) I come to Lakota to stock up on cookies. They are the best by far. I absolutely adore the rum balls, the chocolate macaroons, and the lemon sandwich cookies!

Want to find that little piece of heaven on earth? It's those Lakota Bakery cookies in Arlington, MA. Avert your eyes to the new Jenny Craig across the street and indulgence Lakota's delectable delights! The customer service is exceptional too. The young ladies of Lakota know how to do it right! Kudos to Barbara, Christina et. al!

Each time I go to Lakota it seems like they add more and more delectable items to choose from. They use Merckens chocolate to decorate the cookies so the cookies not only are a work of art but are also delicious. Each cookie is just one buck, I don't know any other bakery that offers cookies made by hand, from scratch, with so much butter and chocolate, no preservatives, etc for only $1.00! Their shortbread shapes are so cute and change with every season (they even have groundhogs for groundhogs day!). Unlike other bakeries, the shapes are decorated with chocolate instead of royal icing so they not only look super cute but also taste delicious. I love to give a nice little box of cookies for any special occasion, they're so fancy and only $12.00 for a dozen so you won't break your bank. They have a variety of macaroons, florentines, linzers, crescents, dainty sandwich cookies with all kinds of fillings, almost every nut shortbread you can imagine, chocolate chip, oatmeal, molasses, etc etc. I think they may have more than 40 kinds daily. The other great thing is that they wholesale their cookies, so even if you get there right at closing (which is like 8:00 on most weeknights) you can still get a great selection. Truly exceptional cookies at exceptional prices.

My daughter Christine works at Lakota Bakery and I have brought Lakota Cookies to a number of get-togethers! Almost everywhere we go now our friends and neighbors always ask if we have any of "those special cookies"?! We even "have to" ship some to a relative on special occasions! I call Lakota Cookies quite yummy myself!
