Since 1981, we've been making our customers happy with our homemade ice cream and non-fat frozen yogurt. Even our bittersweet hot fudge and butterscotch are made from our unique scratch recipes. We also roast our own coffee in our original, Jamaica Plain location (which is our "Mother Ship" where we make all of our ice cream, too). In all our shops, we provide friendly service and in a very unique environment. We have 8 locations throughout the Boston area. Our newest shops are in Brigham Circle in Mission Hill and in the Hillel House at Boston University. For ice cream, they have truly fantastic coffee oreo and really good rotating flavors (cake batter is not my favorite though...). But their yogurt is really good too -- hard-peanut butter is out of this world, and I love the soft serve (fat free) stuff too -- oreo or even plain old vanilla is perfect.
They lose a star because their prices are not very competitive. Sure you get your "ice cream's worth" when you order 2-3 scoops, but the kiddie size still costs you $3. That's just ridiculous.
UMMM---YUMM!!! Great ice cream. They have a seasonal oreo cake batter which is unbelievable. It is also really healthy for you.
There's something important about good ole fashion ice cream shops w/out the gimmicks....

I stop by JP Licks at least twice a week. I work at an ice cream shop during the summer on Cape Cod, and this place is definitely up to par in terms of quality and variety.
