this is my business

Isabella Stewart Gardner first welcomed visitors to her museum on New Year's Day, 1903. On that evening guests listened to the music of Bach, Mozart, and Schumann, gazed in wonder at the courtyard full of flowers, and viewed one of the nation's finest collections of art. Today, visitors experience much the same thing. The Gardner Museum has remained essentially unchanged since its founder's death in 1924. Unchanged but certainly not stagnant.

Boston's cutest little museum. The courtyard is delightful in the summer and the museum amazes me everytime I visit. The cafe is great too!

One of my favorite relaxation spots in Boston. When it's summer time, the courtyard is just magical. Sun pouring in and you can walk around the rooms and you feel like you are in Italy or Spain.

In addition to the artwork, architecture and botanical wonders at the Gardner museum, it is also a welcoming place for families, young people and artists of all ages to experience. I went there as a young child and now so does my daughter.

Amazing art in a magical space. The courtyard is a wonderful winter's day hiding place and makes you forget how awful it is outside.

The Isabella is a wonderful destination for both its classic art and its beautiful central garden. They change the flowers to reflect each season, and the curators are more than happy to inform you about the architecture and art!

The museum is beautiful. It is an interesting oasis within the city. Artwork is on par with Museum of Fine Arts on a smaller scale.

The court yard is a work of art in itself. Just a completely different museum. I love it!

Wow this is a tough one because I love the MFA too. But there is something extra special about the Gardner, never mind the fact that Mrs. Gardner was a spectacular patron of the arts...oh how I wish there were more of her around!
