I love the Huntington, whether it's in its new location at the BCA or at the old one.
And you can usher to get in to see a show!

The Huntington Theatre Company is innovative, premieres original plays and has the finest sets in town. It also has an excellent public education program that reaches out to schools with its school matinees, ensuring the future of the theatre going public. I have been a more than satisfied subscriber for many years.

I have been going to the Huntington Theater almost every year with 36 to 40 students since around 1986. Attending plays at this theater has been one of the most wonderful and worthwhile activities I have ever taken my students to. We have taken advantage of their pre-show lectures where they learned about the authors, the story lines, etc. and also met with stage managers and technical staff, and stage designers and the post-show "meet the actors" activities, giving students a chance to speak with the actors. It has been nothing short of fabulous and a great way to introduce young people to the theater. I highly recommend that they receive this honor because not only have their productions and staff been exemplary in every way, but they have opened up the hearts and minds our young people to the wonders of the theater and all it encompasses. In addition, because they offer the student matinee and reduced ticket costs, they have afforded schools to be able to take those students, the one's who have no access to cultural activities, and provide these children with the opportunity to experience professional theater. Many of the kids who attend, have never been out of their environment and never in a theater, let alone Bostonl......They get my vote and the vote of nearly 1200 students over the years from the Bartlett High School Art Department in Webster, Ma, that have attended plays at the Huntington Theater. This would be a wonderful way to say "thank you."

Thoroughly professional theater with a local home. Usually an excellent choice of plays intelligently directed, performed and designed. Does not have that "homegrown" feeling of some other local theaters. It is world class.

Without a doubt, the most important thing I miss about the Boston area (my job brings me here) is THE HUNTINGTON!!!
I love the many theatre production companies here (including the Kimball in colonial Williamsburg), but NONE hold a candle to HT. If ever you have a airline round trip/theatre package, LET ME KNOW.

The Huntington Theatre Company creates great art at every performance. Their prices are reasonable and they do shows which need to be performed. They also have wonderful programs for youth which extend to a much larger community than just those lucky enough to be exposed to culture from the time they're 3. You can always expect to see great theater at the Huntington!

For 25 years the Huntington Theatre has produced classics, debuted new playwrights, and been lauded nationally for its education programs, devotion to quality, outstanding production values and service to the community. Michael Maso, its managing director, is also a major advocate for theatre and and the arts on a city, state and national basis, and recently was responsible for building new stages at the Calderwood Pavilion, a massive, multi-year project. This was the first new major theatre to be built in Boston in 75 years. It also happens to have one of the largest and most loyal subscription bases in the country.
