Ate here for the first time last weekend. Some friends told us we 'had to' go there for lunch. It was a little bit of a wait because it was prime time on a Saturday, but the people watching was priceless. We were a party of 4 and got a booth, so that was good b/c the people seated at the tables in the center seemed to be a little too crowded for me. We tried the chocolate malt, which was awesome and everyone got burgers, fries and rings. Everything was good, although super messy. I got the smaller burger, which was more than enough for me, so I was the only one not complaining of feeling "stuffed" while we walked along the beach the rest of the afternoon. Yay! Loud and crazy atmosphere with entertaining decor (license plates and partial cars).
Yumo!!!!!!!!! THis is so not fair, I am up in Carlsbad, craving Hodad's and I'm three months pregnant. Cruel. I'll make the drive this weekend. Super Yummy! Hodads! Rocks!
Oh baby! Just seeing Hodad's on the screen makes my mouth water and crave a chesse burger with frings and a chocolate shake! YUMO! Not only do they serve great burgers and more the owner is a Chief Daddy Officer.
No holds barred, calorie intensive, greasy, cheesy, bacony pure deliciousness! Put yourself into a burger stooper and order the double bacon cheeseburger. Yum. Prepare to be ruined for al other burgers...
I have been eating Hodad's food for over 32 years. They make a really great burger. My east county Husband will drive all the way to OB just for one. (the onion rings are good too) Keep up the good work!
Love this place. Wish I could eat here everyday. The burgers are awesome and huge portions. You gotta try it.
If you've tried them all, you know this is the best all around shop in SD. Honorable mention to Rocky's, The Burger Lounge, and Crazy Burger. The fact that a fast food burger can get into this competition testifies to how good In & Out is; however you can't fairly compare a 1/2 lb medium rare burger to the 3x3 Animal Style. 10 News should make a fast food catagory next time around.
Not only the best burger ever, but you get to eat it in a VW van!! I love the atmosphere with the cool license plates. I also love to take a walk on the beach to burn off some of the calories.
A must stop to take out of town folks for the out of this world burgers with the beach life outside or watch at the window bar.
Big, fat, gooey and greasy and yummy. The way a real burger should be.! The very best!
With sooo much popularity ... Maybe Hodad's could consider opening another location near me ... in UTC. Just a suggestion. Your current location must be splitting seams with the lines of people waiting to eat there!
No Competition. The only burger baby I will let in my belly comes from Hodads. Best Burger. Best Location. Best Crew.
It just doesn't get any better than this! Small beach town and authentic burger stand
This place is the bomb. By far the best burgers in Cali. Love the people there too!
i would go with in-n-out but you gotta support local. hodads has got more flavor.
Everytime I eat there it's like going to an all day spa for my Burger Taste Buds.
Hands down for years the best.

How can this not be voted best burger in San Diego? It's easy - Hodad's for sure!
When the cross street is Bacon, you know you're in for a treat. The flavor really comes through in the bacon cheese burger. The fries are a lot more substantial than most burger places. The onion rings looked really good - I'll be getting those next. To top it off, the shake had a huge iceberg of ice-cream sticking out of it. The shake was thick - the way they were meant to be. The wait on a Sunday mid-afternoon was maybe 10-15 minutes. Give it a try!
BEST BURGER i HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! If you eat burgurs and your in San Diego THERE IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO VISIT. No one below reated it below a 5 star rating, do I need to say more???
